Outbound Mammoth

This property is dated but seemed well kept. there is a pool n hot-tub and nice garden area with fires and seating for evening enjoyment. The hotel was good for our one nite stay.

Pros: Room just as described. Check in was pleasant Wine bar on site looked great Coffee in the morning was Excellent Room was clean and the TV was large and updated Pool and separate changing area inside were clean! Restaurant on site with full bar (local beers from Mammoth, not my thing as my taste says there is nothing to write home about for Mammoth Brewery's but great for people who want local tasting). Cons: Internet was more than poor Arcade was somewhat functional (too many games broken or not turned on) Hot tub was luke warm and was not built correctly so you are sitting mostly out of the tub, (a lot of people you could hear whispering the same thing). No room upgrade was offered for VIP on Expedia membership level (hotel was far from overbooked).

I’ve stayed here twice now and my overall opinion is that Outbound is just another overpriced mammoth lodging option. There is the deception of the room photos vs. reality (probably similar to any given hotel). I recently paid more than I normally do with the impression that I’d be staying on the newer part of the property. I was disappointed when I found I wasn’t. But my biggest dissatisfaction was finding that the room I was assigned to smelled like historic cigarette smoke and an old moldy honeymoon suite at the Ramada Inn. For the first time of my life I explained my situation to front desk clerk and asked for another room. I pointed out that Expedia showed a cabin room (newer building) for tonight for $50 less than what I paid. He seemed frustrated and turned the situation into what seemed like more of a negotiation as he tried explaining my options. I felt like he was trying to find something I’d settle for rather than the attempt to “make it right” mentality some businesses have. Eventually he assigned me one of the rooms that normally go for a cheaper price, but the room had no odor. Aside from having to kill two flies in the window, I had no complaints… Super thin pillows if I had to reach for something though. In conclusion, I was grateful for the little bit of flexibility the front desk gave me. But in the future I will seek one of Mammoth’s many other lodging options.

Terrible customer service will never stay here. So disappointed

Poor sound proof, the smoke detector went off around 5:30 lasted over an hour and nobody answers phone at front desk when called about it.

The property is well located and within walking distance to food and shopping options. The room we were in was a bit on the older side but clean.

The service is friendly, the lobby and bar have a comfortable atmosphere, and there’s a water dispenser for refilling bottles. The room is clean, spacious, and the bed is very comfortable.

Stayed for 3 nights (Mon-Thurs). The hotel is conveniently located and minutes from everything in Mammoth. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open during those days of the week. The have a nice lobby bar area but only serves wine by reservation. Overall a decent place but the experience could have been better.

I booked a king size bed room and only to find out that they don’t have the room I booked available. The front desk manager Mario didn’t analogize to me but blamed to Expedia… They wanted to put me in a two queen size beds room but I told them I preferred a King size bed which is what I booked for. The answer I got is I have to pay extra to be upgraded to a room with King size bed… It all sounds weird and not what I expected. I told them my booking gives me VIP access, what that mean. Guess what, the attitude of the manager changed suddenly… I was able to get a big room with a king size bed without paying extra…

We enjoyed our stay. Leslie was wonderful as was Will in dining room. One point water pressure in shower was weak

Excellent location and very clean.

Not all rooms are created equal. We had 3 rooms, two of which were very quiet, but the other was next to some sort of equipment room (225) and was very noisy. Some mechanical issues. The toilet in one room did not work and the shower would not drain properly in another. The coffee service in the morning is very spotty and it's hard to understand why there is not an abundant amount. It's just coffee and not hard to make and keep the kettle full.
