Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy The Winfield Apartments Downtown LA

I liked the rooms/kitchenette and the view of downtown. Wish there was a tv in the bedroom itself and a microwave. But overall our stay was pretty cool. We give it an 8/10.

Property is beautiful inside. Just the downtown area, outside, that is sketchy. There were a lot of weirdos around but I like the restaurants and businesses surrounding. That city just needs to be cleaned up. My overall experience with Sonder was amazing! Would love to stay again.

I was really torn between giving this hotel 3 or 4 stars. But I decided to give this hotel 4 stars. Pros: The hotel itself is beautiful. The room is beautiful it was like a 2 bedroom apartment. Having a washer and dryer was a pleasant surprise. There was also a fridge and dishwasher. There were pots, pans, forks, spatula, bowls and plates. There was also provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash and laundry pods. The room was also very clean and my husband said the bed, pillows and blankets were super comfortable. We were on the 6th floor wasn't too noisy. Cons: the floors felt overly sandy. I highly recommend bringing slippers or sandals. I think the room could us a few rugs so you don't have to walk on the floor. There was only a tv in the living room. I like having a tv in atleast one of the bedrooms. Our two biggest complaints is one the neighborhood/area and the parking. The area is very run down, trashy and smelly. A lot of homeless people. Me and my husband have been in rundown areas but this one takes the cake even we were a little uncomfortable. There are vendors selling food EVERYWHERE! Two, the parking. There is literally no parking anywhere nearby for free. Everywhere was 30$ with signs that said no going in and out. We luckily didn't have to pay $30 because my husband drove around in circles 5 times until he saw a free space right across the street from the hotel door. He had to stop traffic and do a u turn to get the spot.

Unit was very clean and equipped with the necessities. Location was central and staff were polite.

Not the best area. The reason to get a room like this is so you can cook or reheat food but the only thing in the room was a cook top. Very load outside at night.

My room at the Sonders was clean and comfortable, and I slept well. My only problem was the parking availability, since they don't have onsite parking, I was staying at one of the suggested lots behind the building and the only one that had overnight parking. The first two days were no problem, but the last day I stayed the parking was closed and I had no other option to park at a parking deck two blocks away. This placed me in a dangerous situation since I had to leave at 1:00 am. I did not want to put my safety at risk walking at that time in the morning with so many homeless people roaming around and had to hire a Lyft to give me a ride to the parking deck. I will not be staying at the Sonders again, not because it was something wrong with the place but for the lack of a safe and convenient parking area.

a nice room, big, former apartment, kitchen. Walking distance to Whole Foods. Check ion was a bit of a hassle.

It’s located in the city central area where the connecting subway lines are located there, subway is just a block away, the buses are in every corners of the hotels, even if you’re only using public transports, its convenient enough. A few of the tourist sights are within walking distances, dinning options and drinks and bars are all accessible within walking, a big supermarket is also nearby. It gots a lounge area consists of open space and inner room and a pantry on 5th floor, a gym in 3rd floor, a yoga room, luggage storage are in 2nd floor, the interior is everything needed for a home away of home, seasoning is not provided but kitchen seems enough equipped with pot, pan, bowls, cups, utensils, etc. the fridge is big. The downside, sound proof is not so good within building, you can hear people opening and closing their closet doors, their room doors, people speaking in the hallway, TV sounds. However, the cars from the outside is not that bad, comparing to lots of cities and major roads, the sounds from the roads there are relatively low. The bed is too soft for my liking, it’s like soft foam without any support, the ac is located in the bed end, where if you’re turning on heat or fan or ac, the wind/air will blow right on your face as you sleep, which is kinda annoying. The outside windows are a bit dusty, slippers are not provided, you may need to bring your own, the floor I wouldn’t walk on bare foot. During my stay the local TV didn’t work, other than it all is fine

Excellent facility. Self serving. The kitchen is great. Best luggage keeping facility after checkout. Staff is helpful. Rooms are clean and have everything u need for a comfortable stay.

Sonder uses an app for access and it works great. The room was large and very comfortable.

Hotel was very beautiful, had all the amenities such as fridge, dish washer and a kitchen and more etc. I would recommend it!! Check in is easy.. there is parking behind the hotel and it is a little walk wish there was a entrance in the back but other than that it was a nice hotel.. although it is a little noisy.

It’s in downtown LA so it can be a little scary for people not familiar with the area. However I felt safe with security at the front desk and patrolling the area. There’s no where to part if you are driving in though. You’ll have to pay at a public parking garage which can tally up a helluva ticket.

This property was in the perfect location for my stay. I will definitely be staying here again.

Great property, clean, modern, stylish. Staff in lobby friendly and helpful. Lounge was always clean, always stocked with coffee and supplies. We stayed 4 nights in the pent house and it was a great space. The bedroom was separate from the common spaces. I didn’t like there was only one shower & the shower set up was actually a little odd with it being in the same space as the toilet and sink. So when showering, the floor where the toilet and sink were located would get wet as well. Parking, while it was directly behind the hotel was not ideal but not a deal breaker. It was $25 for the day so that figures into the price of the entire stay. Park at the one after the falafel restaurant, there are in and out privileges. Location is excellent to everything. I would stay again.

This was such a great property. I was so impressed with the efficiency and how easy to access everything. I wish i could have fully enjoyed it

The apartment itself was nice and the people at the front were also nice but I did have some issues that you need to consider. I’m not at all a picky person but this hotel is in a bit of a scary area. Although there were nice restaurants the homeless population has gotten a bit out of control. Another issue I had was with the lights. They have the lights set on automatic sensors in the bathroom so when you walk in they go on. This is fine during the day but in the middle of the night it is super annoying bc it wakes you up! The guy at the front desk said many people complain about it but there is no option to turn this feature off. The last part is the noise. We were on the 9th floor and we still heard everything. Apparently the windows are the original so they do not block out any noise. Again, I’m not picky but it was very very noisy. They even passed out earplugs and noise machines. Know this before booking!!
