I cannot say enough GREAT things about the Sonesta ES Suites! We stayed for 2 nights since our Mom had outpatient surgery at the UVA Medical Center. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had a lot of downtime so we hung out by the pool area, enjoyed the morning breakfast (good coffee and lots of great food choices) and really liked the close proximity to restaurants, stores and the athletic field with a jogging/walking track behind the hotel. We stayed in the Superior 2 Bedroom Suite and it was perfect. The kitchen and living room area had everything you needed including an oven, microwave, full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher and a Keurig machine with utensils and dishes and even a gas fireplace. Really thoughtful amenities. There is one elevator centrally located and stairs are right there and well lit with easy access. We didn't have time but there were cornhole boards, basketballs, and other items you could borrow to use in the court by the pool as well as plenty of tables and chairs around the pool, some with umbrellas. Again, the staff was the BEST - the front desk, the breakfast attendant, employees we passed in the hall, etc. They really made our stay! This is definitely our GO TO place in Charlottesville.
