Sonesta Select Whippany Hanover

We did not receive housekeeping services as we were told “That has to be requested before your stay?” We cannot find such a disclaimer in our reservation materials. Desk agent was frequently gone. Parking lot had trash strewn about at all hours. Hallways were freezing. It seemed like the hotel anticipated lite occupancy for the weekend and turned down the heat (considerably). The hotel’s location was useful for our local travels but next time we will find another hotel in the Whippany area.

Sonesta Select in Whippany never fails to please. they are clean, in a good area, smells clean, no smoking - I always choose Sonesta because I know I won't be let down!

Place was pretty nice and clean.

The only thing that looked nice, comfortable, clean and smelled good was the sitting/living room area by the front desk where they put the Christmas tree & have the computers. The dining room looked decent but was empty & didn't serve anything. Out of the 4 receptionists/front desk personnel only 2 of them (Jody & Maria) were nice, pleasant, professional and helpful. The older lady that was there during the morning/afternoon was rude. I asked her if housekeeping could please clean our room, give us a trash bin & put new towels while we were out & she said "ok". I then proceeded to tell her that the cabinet doors where the mini fridge was are off the hinges & all messed up. As well as the towel rack in the bathroom. I also asked for another trash can b/c the one that was there was tiny. She agreed to everything. When we got back hours later the room was still a hot mess. I then informed Jody that i requested housekeeping earlier in the morning & she immediately apologized & explained that due to the holidays & short staffed housekeeping had to be requested/scheduled & she scheduled us a few days out. The other receptionist in the evening had the personality of a rock and was very unpleasant & looked at me w/attitude as if I was constantly interruping her. Didn't speak at all & when she did it was very low & dry. During the evening/night we could hear everything outside as well as other guests in their rooms. Every time I went into the elevator I got nauseous due to the smell.

The hotel is clean, the bed is comfortable and it is very quiet. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly.

It was fine. The service was ok. The room was decent. No breakfast is offered and coffee and tea are removed from the lobby at 9am. I think that’s a little unreasonable. If we were spending more time at the hotel I would definitely want to stay somewhere nicer that offered more amenities, but for just a place to sleep, the price was good and did the job.

I wanted to provide some feedback on my recent stay at your property. While I appreciated the spacious room and its overall comfort, there were a few aspects that fell short of my expectations. The washrooms appeared quite dated, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the upgrade I paid extra for did not meet my expectations. I was promised a room with two double beds but was instead offered a single king-sized bed, which was not ideal for my needs. I trust this feedback will help improve the guest experience, and I hope these issues can be addressed to better match the quality I’ve come to expect. Thank you

Good location, easy access to rooms, fantastic lobby where you can relax or work. Great spacious rooms with comfy beds.

The staff was nice and friendly room was clean. I did not notice any flaws.

The bathroom tub was so filthy we couldn't use it. Black sludge came up and swirled around the very slow draining tub. Human hairs on wall mounted soap/shampoo/conditioner bottles and black crud on the bottle holder. Something spilled down the from of the bathroom cabinet. Grubby in general. I would not stay there again dispute the nice common area.

Booked a King Size Room and ended up getting a double bed Room. Reasons were they didn't have any King bed Rooms available and also I made my reservation through a 3rd party even though I paid for a King bedroom. Me and wife ended up sleep in two beds. Very disappointing.
