Sonesta Simply Wichita Airport

Great hotel and great location. Close to shopping, dining, and the airport.

Low end hotel, smelled of stale smoke.

We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was big with all amenities needed. A very nice place to stay....

The staff is rude and the rooms are not well maintained. Our toilet would not flush and after bringing it to the staff they did nothing.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and clean. It had a full kitchen which was great when traveling with kids. The only problem was the air conditioner. There is only one unit in the living area which had a duct going into the bedroom. It made the bedroom a lot warmer than the living area. We were able to cool it down enough to sleep, but the living area was an ice box. I would say the room was still above average for a 2 star hotel.

Great location

Problems with my card key, the walls were poorly patched in multiple areas on the walls, between an auto shop and construction on the other side. The door didnt shut all the way, the nonsmoking room was musky and smelled like smoke. The fridge was dirty. Convenient area, cheap. No continental breakfast. Probably will not book again.

Nice

Upon arrival they had honored my request for a first floor stay to make it easier to enter with all of our belongings and wheelchair, but when we entered the room there was water all over the kitchen floor from what looked like something leaking from the fridge. instead of coming down and simply cleaning it up or seeing if there was an actual problem, they just gave us another room, which was now on the 2nd floor and not as convienant. The new room had a broken lock, and was very warm, unlike the first floor room that was very cool. We just accepted our fate, and made due with this room, although we felt like we needed to put a chair in front of the door for security. The room never really cooled off much, and for sure didn't in the bedroom, which was separate from the living room. The bed was extremely hard in the bedroom. The space was clean. The bathtub plug didn't hold water, so we now are in a non-accessible room with a tub that doesn't work, and we were having to give my handicapped son a shower with no way for him to stand/sit. Needless to say, we made it work, but won't be staying here again.

The remote for the tv didn’t work and the phone didn’t work so we couldn’t call the front desk (or anywhere else for any reason). Had to walk from near the end of the hall on 3rd floor to the elevator to get to the lobby to tell the clerk. He immediately came to the room (got there before I did). The remote had to be replaced but there was nothing he could do about the phone because it was a maintenance issue and too late to call them. The phone not working could become an emergency hazard if one doesn’t have a cell or their cell is dead. Other than that, our stay was quite pleasant. Walmart is conveniently across the street and the highway is close enough to get to quickly but far enough that the noise doesn’t reach the hotel. Some construction (June 2025) at the end of the street made it tricky to see oncoming traffic when pulling onto the service road. May be better to drive through the Walmart parking lot and enter the service road from there.

Water would not drain from bath sink

Did the job. Comfy bed, good A/C, kitchen stuff. (Although only 1 fork.) Free 24 hr coffee and meh fitness center downstairs. The shower water pressure was actually TOO much, but if I will take that over too little.

It has a stove and a full size refrigerator in it in a microwave that was very nice

Room was nice and clean and it was nice to have the convenience of the refrigerator, microwave, cooktop even though I did not use them. All this at a hundred bucks a night. Not a bad deal!

Customer sevice is excellent!

Probably the cleanest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Just wish it had rooms with king size beds and breakfast.
