Studio 6 Carlsbad, CA

The staff was very kind and helpful but Motel 6/Studio 6 Carlsbad is not maintaining the property. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable, very old and lumpy. AC/Heater, some lights, phone, clock and TV didn't work. Pool hasn't worked for over 1 year. Kitchenette had no frying pan or spatula, also lacked the correct amount of dishes, cups, silverware and basic cooking supplies. The bathroom sink backed up and flooded the room, the water leaked to first level. All of the furniture was severely damaged and dirty, dead cockroaches and live ones were present. The sheets and duvet were thread barren and had holes. They ran out of blankets so we slept using our beach towels from home because we were cold. The following had to be requested and weren't in the room: paper towels, dish soap, sponge, Kleenex, shampoo and conditioner. Picture missing from room only the screws were left. Toilets don't flush well. They didn't sell snacks, water bottles or soda. Other guests stopped me in the hall, elevator, and parking lot to ask me how our room was and then shared the horrors of their rooms. Women talk!!!!!!!!!!!! The manager refunded $48 back to Expedia for us for the inconvenience and moved us to another room that wasn't flooded but it was as run down as the first room. LOCATION WAS PERFECT FOR LEGOLAND!!! But will never go to this hotel again. What a lost opportunity for the company.....diamond in the rough.

The hallways kinda stank and the toilet kept flushing and the knob in the bathtub was loud but besides that it felt like home

For the money, it could not be beat. The carpeting needed some help, but the kitchen was very handy, and a walk-in shower is hard to find. The location was terrific. I did not check out the pool, but it appeared to be nice as I walked by.
