I’ve stayed at Studio Allston 5 times now and each time I’ve been very happy with my room and the staff. Jonathan at the front desk always remembers me when I come in. That’s a big plus in my book and one of the reasons I keep coming back. The breakfast in the morning is another plus. The rooms are always clean, tidy, and a nice size. On my last stay there it was warm enough to enjoy their spacious outdoor courtyard.

The hotel has a unique and appealing aesthetic. The staff were exceptionally personable and helpful, making the stay enjoyable. My only two concerns were the limited availability of fresh fruit and the location of my room—situated directly above the first-floor exterior door, I frequently heard it opening and closing, which was a bit disruptive.

We really loved the art decor of this place. Our room had a great view of the river and a park. We loved the mural and paintings in our room and the purple chairs. It was an easy 30-minute walk to Harvard Square and a quick uber to MIT and Boston Commons. We ordered from the restaurant one of the nights and the food was really good.

Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable staff at check in. Comfortable bed, fairly quiet HVAC. Great big tv. Nice selection of beers in lobby. Room was clean and everything worked. A big no, however, to the friggin barn door for the bathroom that hotels must find cute but is so functionally rediculous. With it's frosted glass and 2inch gap all the way around this bathroom door affords no privacy, is clunky, awkward to open because there's no handle, and very noisy as it swings to and fro banging into the wall. When closed there is absolutely no privacy giving direct vision into bathroom when the room door to the hallway is opened.

The heater did not work even though the outside temperature was below 30 degrees. The room temperature was around 64 degrees. It was too cold. The hotel turned off the heater. The facility is too old.

When I tried to open the little refrigerator door the handle fell off. Went out to run errands and when we got back, the room key didn’t work. Because of very limited staff we had to sit in the lobby and wait because the maintenance man was working on something else. Thankfully, we only waited for approximately 15 minutes. The staff was very kind and that is what made the experience more tolerable.

A boutique hotel trying to be hip & trendy but well past its prime. Stayed in a room on the south side of property, 3rd floor which needed some extra tlc. Not the cleanest appearing bathroom, definitely needs a refresh. The carpet throughout is dark dull and drab-no longer hip. The factory Bo-Ho vibe is a bit outdated kitchen. One plus-the beds were comfortable!!

This felt closer to a Hostel than it did a Boutique hotel. The Walls are paper thing you can hear everything next door and in the hall. And I mean everything. Theres no privacy screen or shade on the Windows. So it’s blackout or hello world. Ear plugs are mandatory for getting sleep. The bathroom door is a “Barn” door that doesn’t fully close so you need to be ok not having any bathroom privacy. If you open the front door and someone is in the bathroom they are in full view of the hallway. You can hear everything outside the window which is next to a SALT DEPOT for the city so backup beeping and trucks outside the windows. I can’t stress enough. Earplugs are a requirement. The “craft kitchen” is the most liberal use of the term “craft” I’ve experienced in a while. Food was terrible poorly cooked, and everything is left on a counter for pickup. It ended up being cold both times because they got the orders wrong.”they charge a RESORT FREE every night. Not sure how that’s justified. Since the ping pong table doubles a a breakfast table. Beer taps shut down at 9pm and even if you are staying there for a week you’ll get a $12 charge if you don’t turn in your tap to pay card even though they have your card on file! I will never stay here again. There are so many better options close by.

We traveled as a group of friends and had 5 rooms at this hotel. The biggest negative, one that affected every room we rented, was that the air conditioner was disabled in the thermostat options, and so was the fan. Our room was 74 when we arrived, and we turned the heat off. Left our window open and went out for the night. When we came back it was still 75 in the room. During the overnight, it rose to 80 degrees even with the window open and the heat off, pretty miserable. This unfortunately makes me rate the comfort pretty low. Other than that, the hotel was very nice. Our room was very big and had a nice updated bed which was great. The bathroom was clean and updated as well. Pretty nice lobby with activities (pool table, ping pong, seating) there was a free wine tasting when we were there, a restaurant and an outdoor courtyard with a fire pit and seating. Plenty of parking available for a reasonable $10 a night. The neighborhood is nice. If they had not disabled A/C in the rooms, this would have been a 10/10 hotel.

Staff was nice, facility needs upgrade. Trying to be trendy, but bright, hip paint job doesn’t cover flaws. 10 minute walk to trains. Only handful of restaurants nearby.

Convenient location for Harvard sporting events. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean rooms. Reasonable parking fee. Ideally Expedia would collect the facilities fee as part of the booking, rather than requiring the hotel to add charges upon check in.

Great all the way around. Different in that it offered style and designs from local and National artists. Close to the Charles river and Harvard and all things Boston. The one gripe, you were not able to control your room thermostat. It got pretty warm and humid in the room and we could not cool it down. And no I did not want to use the complimentary fan at the desk.
