The Flat NYC

Dingy sheets, dingy towels, loud street sounds, no rug, squeaky unstable bed (was supposed to be a King but it was a Queen sized bed) and smell of dead mouse in wall, no elevator, no in room amenities, loud hallways and just not a warm, inviting environment. I’ve never been to prison but I’m sure those accommodations are better. A waste of $250. If you want comfort do not stay here. After a hour in the room, I left and didn’t bother to stay overnight because it was such a dismal abode and such a disappointing experience.

The bathrooms are shared and

Chose because close to conference location and little availability that night. It is akin to a boarding house or student room - probably fine for bargain traveler. Location felt safe, but hotel feels slightly seedy. Room and bathroom were quite spacious. Fine for one quick night with no need to linger in room but would not return unless there were no other good options.

Not having a private bathroom was a bit of a disappointment but overall - clean, convenient, reasonably priced and great service.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The rooms are very clean, nice bedding, great area, staff very friendly, great coffee. I was on one of the higher floors which if you’re not particularly fit could be an issue but for me it wasn’t. The only “complaint” is they use a really highly scented detergent for sheets & towels & I’m very allergic to fragrance so I would recommend going lighter on that but overall this is absolutely fantastic place to stay for the price

Rooms very small

Trendy hotel. The shared bathroom situation wasnt bad and i never had to wait. Staff was friendly. There is no elevator so you get the full NYC experience where a lot of buildings still dont have elevators. Free tea and coffee on level one. The room felt clean. The TV and music channels didnt work in my room. It kept lagging and finally cut out. Later I put on the white noise storm channel which was nice except it was interrupted every few minutes by commercials-kind of defeats the purpose of a white noise channel. The room was small but well designed. I would only wish for a small lamp thats dimmable instead of the harsh lights or nothing; and for a shelf or luggage rack since no where to out my back except the desk.

Terribly unfriendly staff. There was a fire in the hotel and they left everyone with no accomodations. And selectively refunded some people, not sure based on what. So I'm on the street with no room and all my things are wet

The Flat Hotel is in an excellent location that is very walkable and safe even in the evening. Lots of Food and Bars nearby open late. I selected it for its proximity to Penn Station and Bathhouse Flatiron. The hotel offered a spacious newly renovated room with the comfy bed. Clean modern Bathroom. The property was very clean. Only complaint would be noise from the bar downstairs. Otherwise the staff were great check-in was fast and easy. Yes I would stay again.

The good thing is that it is near attractions, good restaurants and walkable to subway stations.

I really enjoyed staying there. I feel as if I was in my own flat. The room with my own bathroom was cosy and very comfortable. The decor is light. (Bed was squeeqy.) Bathroom, though very small, but well lit and nice. The shower is big enough and water pressure is excellent. Staff: the gentlemen that checked me in is professional. Minimal chatting. The other staffs did not answer to a simple good morning.... It's NYC, so it gets noisy around the area and when house keeping is cleaning. Overall my stay was nice. There were plenty of water, tea, and coffee for guests. The area is walkable and plenty of restaurants around. Not far from Times Square and Penn Station. I would definitely stay again.! Thanks for a cozy stay!
