Fantastic, the location was excellent and quiet at night. Room was great all you could need, goo bathroom , clean room for the price. Our first time in Vietnam and the staff were wonderful. All the staff from the entrance to cleaning could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Breakfast was simple but was tasty and plenty to eat. We look forward returning and staying again at this hotel.

Our stay at Golden Charm Hotel was wonderful. The service was ALWAYS incredibly helpful and friendly, without ever being pushy or intrusive. They dealt with requests for laundry, taxis, an extra blanket etc with professional efficiency, and also shaded caring and helpful advice. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, with all the facilities we could have wanted. The included breakfast was great, with local specialty pho as well as egg-based or pancake options. The location is perfect - right in the old quarter and close to the beautiful lake, many many eateries, street food and sites. Highly recommend this place and will return if we ever find ourselves in Hanoi again!

Cannot fault this hotel. The cleanest hotel floor i’ve ever come across. Friendly staff who even prepared breakfast unexpectedly when we were leaving early one morning for a day teip. Very good location. Don’t risk booking somewhere else if you want a central location because this is an excellent hotel especially for the price. Clean towels everyday and gave us free water and snack in the room. Breakfast was mainly cooked to order and was therefore very fresh!

We are glad we booked with Golden Charm for our first leg of trip. The rooms are modest, but the staff were incredibly accommodating and trustworthy. We booked our tours with the hostel staff and they took great care in scheduling and arranging everything along the way. There was not much you had to think about as they planned everything with all other sister companies per your tour locations. They checked in with updates when things may have changed. thanks very much for the hospitality.

I stayed in the dormitory room which is clean with comfortable beds. Staffs were really helpful. I booked Halong Bay and sapa tours with them and they let me have free breakfast and shower even though I've checked out. The tours are reasonably priced. There's another lady whose bus to sapa didn't come for 2 nights and I saw the hotel staffs helping her re-book and contact the travel agency. Would definitely stay here again!

Room is clean. Location is not in noisy street. You would not be disturbed by motorbike. Staff is friendly. About the room, it will be great if they provided hanger for each dorm bed. If each bed having a private curtain would be excellant.

We used the Golden Charm Hotel as our base to visit Sapa and Halong Bay. We checked in and out of the hotel three times throughout our 8 day stay. Each time the staff went out of the way to help us with travel arrangements, transportation, etc. I could not be happy with the way we were treated by everyone.

We stayed in the dormroom and it felt so luxe. First of all it was very clean. Then second who expects to have a rainshower in a dormroom? We got free towels (2 pp), free coffee, tea and juice and when we had to leave early in the morning they packed us some take away breakfast. The only thing I can complain about is that I didn't had a electricityplug when i was laying on the top bed. Haha, so yes it was realy good! No party-hostel and they only have one 4 bed-dormroom so it might not be the best place to meet other backpackers if that is what you're looking for.

We booked Hanoi Golden Charm and got our second consecutive bait and switch. We were told (despite booking weeks in advance) that there were no rooms and were put in a taxi to another of the owner's hotels - the Hanoi Old Quarter hotel. We accepted this because the outlook looked better. Hanoi Old Quarter hotel was one of our better experiences. The room was as advertised for the Golden Charm, nothing fancy but quite nice and good value. The staff however were fantastic. We decided to book the next section of travel through them and it was well worth it. They really looked after us. They did make a mistake, and almost another, but they fixed that without fuss and at their own expense. We could not recommend the staff of Hanoi Old Quarter Hotel higher. The porter (if that's the rate title) could not have worked harder or more cheerfully. Again - we booked Golden Charm but got Old Quarter and were glad of it. As for the old quarter itself. We were initially overwhelmed by the assault on the senses but grew to love it.

Book where you can get the breakfast an its worth what you pay. Yes it's older and a little run down but you're paying next to nothin for it. The staff are great and you are right in old Hanoi.
