Tropicana Resort Phu Quoc

We had a beach room, and the position was perfect. The room was clean. How ever, they only serve breakfast, and have no other facilities. There are plenty of options outside. There are bars to get drinks next door if you are on the beach, and some nice places to eat too. Having said that, it was just what we needed. The sunsets are beautiful. There is a shop that sells everything just 2 mins away. Don’t expect too much, and you will be happy.

Great stay. Exactly what I was hoping. Not the highest of high luxury, but pretty darn nice, but if you’re shopping on hotels.com, and not going right to your luxury vacation planner, this should be perfect for you. Not knowing anything about Phu Quoc before going, it was exactly where I would want to be. Staff was incredibly nice. Easily walkable to plenty of restaurants, and centrally located to get anywhere else. Definitely recommend. And splurge for the waterview room. Well worth a few extra dong!

Great beach

There was problem with the AC on my first day but they fixed the problem with giving me a new room with fine working AC so problem solved. This property has beautiful beach, pool and staff were very friendly and polite. I’ll definitely want to come back here.

Air conditioning is token change other room and the bathroom i don’t like

I was first time in 10/2016. It was excellent. Ms.Jasmine manager was very kind and gave me upgraded room on the beach. Terrace chairs and table were dirty and sticky. I called cleaners. I wanted to make the tea in the evening. That was when I noticed that the tea tray was dirty and loaded with human hair like in the barber shop, plus the tray, tea pot and cups were dirty, too. Photo!!! The next morning I brought the tea tray to receptionist and asked for the manager to show her. She was not there at the moment. When I saw Ms. Jasmine again, I told her that I deserve I night free for the inconvenience that I experienced. During the first night I got some kind of allergy on my back, chest and upper arm. I believed it was bed bugs. Mr. Jasmine offered me some cream. She helped me and put cream on my back and chest. She even bought the new cream the next day because the previous one was expired. I declined. The breakfast was not worth the money($87/day). No many choices for breakfast. The soup was excellent. I asked for boiled eggs and the staff did it. The staff is kind, the resort has a lot of potentials, but a lot of things started to fall apart. The nice small beach was dirty. My check out was fast. Ms. Jasmine offered me 1 night free on my next stay for the inconvenience that I had. I refused and said that I would never come to Tropicana again. The site photos are not the real representative of Tropicana now. Too bad. It was once a beautiful place to stay and enjoy.

Don’t be fooled by the pics, won’t go into any detail as they left a birthday cake in my room on my birthday. But I wouldn’t stay here again..sorry

The property was prime location but accommodation was out dated. For the bathroom you only get bath towels and they were had and scratchy.

Hotel was lovely. Would benefit from felt pads on the furniture as the room above us dragged heavy chairs across the floor during the night and from 6 am onwards. Breakfast catered for Russians and very little available for other cultures. Really nice staff and great room sizes Beach was lovely but too many sun beds crowded into small spaces. Easy walk into town.

pros - good location, not so far from shops - good view from the room (ocean view), near to the beach - good varieties for breakfast - excellent wifi connection cons - in the itinerary mentioned i am entitled for free airport service, when arrive, the receptionist mentioned the hotel FORGOT about the arrangement, and going back still cant arranged as the hotel said need to be arranged 24 hrs earlier (shouldnt they arranged for us?) - room got bug, me and my child got bitten twice in 2 days - fan in the room has a 'strange' sound - staff not really friendly

We really loved the property we had a beach bungalow right on the beach was beautiful. short distance from town. no need to get any closer to the town not much there only night markets and you only need to go there once. heaps of food places around the hotel with great street food and small restaurants. Staff were lovely and helpful. Only complaint was we bought a tour at hotel which they offer. Says you get a private car to for the tour. on Day small taxi picked us up . no room for 5 hours of drive tour and driver did not speak any English which I can understand but a little conversation can help or make the interesting. other taxi drivers we went with spoke English he only said pepper farm honey farm pearl place. We always get caught out with tours in Vietnam .though I had this one in the bag. next time.

Right on the beach. Very helpful staff with good English.

Amazing room on the beachfront, massage ladies on the beach out the front of hotel were terrific, pool was quite big and plenty of lounges.

The staff was very polite and friendly

The hotel is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The only unfortunate thing is the construction site directly west of the resort that can be very annoying during the morning hours - especially when you are trying to sleep in after a long night.
