I’ll be honest, when we booked the 1-hour Elephant Feeding experience at the Kata location, I was skeptical. I kept thinking, "How can feeding elephants for an hour actually be fun? Won't we get bored after ten minutes?" I couldn't have been more wrong.
There is something genuinely therapeutic about being in the presence of these massive, gentle creatures. It wasn’t just "feeding"; it was an incredibly grounding experience that left all six of us in our group feeling amazing. We went in expecting a quick activity and left wishing we had booked the entire day.
Staff is 100% committed to the elephants' well-being.
We haven't noticed no sticks or leashes in sight. And there was one elephant with a skin condition, and the staff were very proactive in asking us not to touch that specific one. They explained it wasn't because it was contagious, but because the elephant's skin was sensitive and uncomfortable for them. It’s clear they prioritize the animals' comfort over visitors, and that is how it should be.
