If you're staying in an area with a Kintetsu station directly accessible, and you don't need the Osaka subway, this pass isn't particularly cheap. Since the new version no longer covers buses, it's a good deal if it covers areas like Nara, Kyoto, and Kobe. If you only have Kintetsu or Hankai, you might want to just tap Icoca directly.

I use it from Osaka for a day trip to Nara, Kobe, and Kyoto. It doesn't cover city buses in those 3 cities. So this Kansai Railway Pass is not optimal. It's more economical to use Icoca.
