Nothing special other than a very pricey Howard Johnson. The rooms were cleaned, beds are good. Staff was nice and attentive. Acoustics are bad we could hear everything in the room above us. Also no coffees pots in room.

It was first time staying at a Howard Johnson. When I first approached it, I was confused. The pictures posted online are kind of misleading. From the outside it looks more like a motel than a hotel. The positives are that it is located in a convenient location for what we wanted to do (Cliff Walk, visit the Newport Mansions, etc) and the facility was serviceable (had WiFi, enough power outlets, good water pressure, free breakfast). The negatives are that they are not the only hotel in that area (so it is not like they are the only hotel with a convent location) and multiple things were broken or a little off. During our stay the pool was out of service and the staff was really rude about it. They said their solution was we could use another hotel’s pool. But do you want to drive to another hotel to use their pool? On our first day, there was no meat at breakfast. They served potatoes and cheese “omelettes”. And on our second day, the orange juice dispenser was broken.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

What a wonderful find! The property is conveniently located close to everything you may need. The staff were attentive and polite. The rooms are very spacious and everything was spotless. Breakfast was great! We highly recommend this place! A+

This property was okay but not worth the 9.4 rating. It’s decent value for Newport and though it is located in a banal strip mall area it is not too far from downtown.

The hotel was a decent, very standard national chain facility. The room was clean enough . Nothing special. Its main advantages were its location to the event I was attending and the decent breakfast provided. The area and time of year command a high daily room price. This is the most I have ever paid for a basic hotel room that was not a suite.

This hotel was a very good value. It was comfortable, clean and close to Newport. There is no elevator, so if you have mobility issues request the ground floor.

The staff were all great and there are board games & card games available at the front desk, which my son loved. I would definitely stay again if the opportunity comes up.

This was an excellent experience at a great place. Check i was easy, with pleasant staff who was proud to show off their many awards, and to promise they were working hard to get more. Property was clean and comfortable, easy access to desired activities, and had plenty of close parking. The building always required a card to access, so good security. Area is good, across from a nature area, across the street from many shops, 10 minutes to the heart of Newport. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.
