Great location. Shockingly quiet room. The full breakfast was a great beginning to each day. We were a little confused about parking, but the Caterina Market garage is literally a block up in the same street and wasn’t expensive. Everyone was so nice. The hotel is beautiful. I’d stay here again. Only issue was the bed was very firm but it wasn’t as big a deal as I had anticipated. And being by Bolhão market was a giant bonus.

We received a warm welcome and efficient check-in. All members of staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Although the bed was comfortable it was on a mezzanine reached by a spiral staircase. This was quite dangerous in our opinion and difficult to negotiate during the night or when carrying anything, however small. It was annoying that coffee and water were chargeable - did not use. Apart from a 10% discount on restaurant (did not use) no VIP service. Did not receive free bottle of wine advertised when we booked. Excellent location but would not return.

A classic, old but very well kept Hôtel. Located right in the shopping district, market and with multiple eating options in the immediate area. The best of the trip. Mis-rated as 3 star in my opinion.

Great property and staff. Staff was very attentive and ordered a taxi for 4:30am. Location was excellent for walking and access to restaurants. Is a unique property and they keep the decor like you are in the 1950s. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that the breakfast, although a decent one, was the same every day. If you stay for multiple days this becomes a bore.

Beautiful old hotel with amazing ceiling and decor. Pay parking is two blocks away but the hotel gives a discount of $10 a night. Staff comes out to help with luggage. Comfortable room.

Great convenient hotel located in the heart of Oporto. It is very close to São Bento Station and you can walk to many places from there. Our room was very nice, comfortable beds, nice bathroom. The shower was being weird with the water temperature, and the hotel can be quite noisy if you are in the first floors. Breakfast is amazing. Very good food options, quality, and great coffee. Overall, an excellent deal for a budget friendly stay.

Staff was friendly and helpful at this hotel located on a pedestrian street with shops and cafes. The hotel has lovely, traditional furnishings, artwork and memorabilia. Also good value.

The front desk was amazing. The beds were hard. No water in the room unless you paid for it. Asked to take a glass from breakfast for meds and they said no. Breakfast was excellent. Parking was an issue because of the van we rented. They helped us a lot with that. Great location.

The rooms were very comfortable, not massively huge but just right for us. We slept very well! The biggest bonus of the hotel was the bar and the barman Bruno, we went every night before dinner for drinks and had the best service and experience. Thank you Bruno!!!!

The hotel is in the most central street for commerce, in Porto, in a lovely area. It is a very old hotel which has been refurbished to continue to feel modern and comfortable (and it does). The room was great. Housekeepers were excellent. Breakfast was good. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is that this hotel has a number of young and unexperienced workers with little notion of service, and that they are there to provide a great experience. On New Year's Eve I was told there would "likely" (?) not be room service. Since I had kids who needed to be in bed early, I just got some treats for us. Surprisingly to me, when I asked for a butter knife at the bar, a worker refused to lend one, because "that was not authorized". Since the restaurant was going to have a big party, I mentioned perhaps I could go get one there; the gentleman had the courage (?) to tell me that I could not go there and take a knife from the table, insinuating I would basically steal it (!). I proceeded to walk to the restaurant and ask a waitress, who kindly lent it, but stil begged me to return it (!). As I turned around, the barman was heading our way and berating the waitress, that the procedure was not allowed...! If you are a prospective guest or manager reading this: yes, rest assured I left the knife in the room! I understand hotels might get pinched things, but seriously, what nice hotel (such as this otherwise is), refuses to lend a butter knife and makes a scandal about this?
