I recently stayed at Le Méridien in Washington, D.C. to celebrate my birthday, and while my stay began with a hiccup, the exceptional service quickly turned things around and made the weekend memorable.
Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that my room hadn’t been cleaned at all. Naturally, this was disappointing, especially since it was a special occasion. However, I went down to the front desk where I was warmly greeted by Olivia and John. They both handled the situation with professionalism, empathy, and urgency. They immediately took ownership of the issue, apologized sincerely, and reassured me that it would be addressed promptly.
True to their word, they not only ensured my room was promptly cleaned but also went above and beyond by upgrading me to a suite. On top of that, they offered a complimentary credit to use at the hotel restaurant, which was a much-appreciated gesture. Their kindness and attention to detail made all the difference.
Throughout the rest of my stay, everything was smooth and enjoyable. The location of the hotel is perfect—central, safe, and within walking distance to many of D.C.'s top attractions, shops, and restaurants. The walkability alone is a huge plus!
Upon checkout, Olivia made sure that the compensation was properly applied to my account and took the time to ask how my weekend went. That level of care and follow-through really stood out to me.
