Bathroom were stinky and ac was not working, staff was not helpful

Requested extra pillows took 2 days for them to bring to our room and 3 reminders. When they cleaned our room left wet towels and the clean towels were left on our bed.

First problem: finding the self-parking. It is hidden by a concrete block - you have the feeling you are going on a sidewalk. Then, lo and behold, the parking indicates complete. I had to back off from that very awkward alleyway, as a boom lift was blocking the side road. After running in circles for 20 minutes, finally found another parking. Walked all the way to the hotel. And there I was told by the lobby that the parking was in fact not full - it was their way to save space for customers. "Tomorrow, just talk to us, we'll get you in". Went to sleep. Woke up really early because the curtain really doesn't do a good job blocking the sun. Also, the AC is noisy, so it kept waking me up all night. The room has clearly seen better days. The wifi? Doesn't work reliably either. Either very slow or it "skips". The next night, I tried to park again. Waited over 10 minutes for someone to show up at reception - you see, they expect you to self-check. Most of the time, the reception is not manned. Then, a lady tells me to go speak with the valet, who is actually managing all of the parking. So, basically, self-service and valet are the same thing - which opens the doors to a lot of shenanigans in my mind, with self-service parking being conveniently not available. When I had her notice that no one was manning that desk either, she told me that they must be parking someone. I had enough by that time. They decided to go down market. There are better options in that area.

Parking was not easy, buildings dated.. Room was clean and nice...

The issues with this property are more structural than service-based. At all times, the staff was courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean. The view of downtown Quebec was beautiful. The downstairs lobby features a bistro (Cochon Dingue, similar to the bistro in Olde Quebec near the waterfront). The top floor, which looks more like a blue flying saucer at night, is presumably a gourmet restaurant. I never made it that high... Indeed, traversing the floors of this massive hotel is challenging, because the architects only created four elevators for all twenty-plus floors: all four inconveniently located in a tiny nook off the lobby. Long minutes waiting for elevators are the norm, as are allowing jam packed elevators to pass while one waits for a free one. The parking at the hotel is a three level leaky, subterranean dungeon (where was all that water coming from!?!) with tiny parking spaces and razor sharp turns. The "valet" required waiting in a long line for an older, visibly overworked gentleman to give you permission to access the lot by removing a cone and self park. I've never experienced valet parking that relied so totally on self-service. Somewhere there's a pool, but I never found it, unless have of it had leaked into the garage. This is a poorly maintained and potentially dangerous structure masquerading as a luxury hotel. I would not stay here again.

Only issue was shower did not work.

Huge hotel. Smallish pool. Forgot to leave a tip the first night for the housekeeper.So they decided not to change any of our drink glasses that were visibly dirty, towels, etc. Called and requested new glasses. Front desk said they'd bring right down, but never did. Have an envelope expecting a tip in the roon, made sure that they put the remote right on top of it. I normally do tip, but I know not everyone does, but it was really in your face it was expected. Tipped on the last night as the housekeeper finally did replace some stuff. Realized I forgot 3 pairs of shorts in a drawer there and called the same day, but we were already in Ottawa. We left on June 30th. It is now July 5th and I still haven't heard back if they found them or not! Emailed, phoned, left messages on the app. Very disappointed in their service.

Big room but need love

Hôtel bien situé mais demande beaucoup de rénovations.

This is a great location, close to bars and restaurants in the Montcalm neighborhood. Great views from the room. Quick walk to the Plains if Abraham, the Citadel, and Old Quebec. You can also get a ride to Old Quebec for about $15. Staff were excellent.
