The stay was ok. The bed was terrible it felt like two beds fixed together, one was so worn out it was like sleeping in a bath. The tv wouldn’t work correctly, only half the buttons on the remote worked so we couldn’t retune the set.

A very basic accommodation which is showing a lot of signs of ware over many years. I would suggest it needs to start at basic repairs in the rooms. Light bulbs missing, switches missing, fridge with the free spring water was warm as it appeared the temperature of the fridge was room temperature. On trying to open the bottles of water they sealed. However you could open them using grips. Overall was very disappointing.

While the hotel has room for improvement in certain areas, it does have notable strengths. The staff, particularly Matt, was exceptional: kind, friendly, and always ready to assist. Additionally, the lady at reception during breakfast was equally welcoming and courteous. However, some aspects of the facilities could benefit from attention. The shower lacked sufficient water pressure, the beds were uneven, and the carpet showed visible wear with holes. The dining experience was mixed; while the chicken wings were enjoyable, the pizza was disappointing—overcooked and heavily seasoned. Considering the current standards, the ‘Plus’ in the hotel’s name feels somewhat unearned. Addressing these issues could significantly enhance the overall guest experience.

When we arrived at the hotel there was a power cut. We were unable to check in and we were unable to access our room and we were told that the very earliest we could expect the power to return was 8:00 p.m. this was 4 hours after our arrival time. We were unable to use the room. We had a special dinner in Leeds that we had to be prepared for and we were planning to use the room to have a relaxed start to our evening. We were left. No choice but to book a more expensive room last minute at a hotel close by. I have contacted the Best Western and Expedia for a refund and this has been declined on three occasions. I find it absolutely ludicrous that the product I purchased was not able to be used and I wasn't able to have a full refund. To compound my disappointment, when I initially contacted Best Western, they simply told me that when Expedia reached out to them, they would process a full refund. However this has been declined on two occasions according to their refund policy. I feel let down by both Expedia and Best Western on this matter. I do not feel both companies have my interests at heart both as a consumer and as a valued customer.
