Great location, got a room upgrade but the couch my son slept in mattress was stained, AC was really loud and the shower was horrible with very little pressure. Valet is separate and they didn’t help with bags, dog friendly but no dog waste containers, we walked to the corner which was close though to dispose.

Frequent visitor, and booked a room with two double beds this time. The room was actually spacious (not all of their rooms are) and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. Nice view of Main Street Annapolis and the State House. Can't beat the location or the history. Note that you will NOT be able to check in even slightly early though.

I love this hotel, I stayed here before but this time I was disappointed with a few things. I’m traveling with 2 small children, I arrived early and of course the room was not ready, which is fine, I was way early. However the valet didn’t help me with the luggage, they just stood there and watched pull it all out, with 2 small children and my mom who is elderly; the other valet went to help the people behind me and didn’t even pick up my bags from the curb; at the front desk they first told me I was in another building, when I asked if it was going to be and easy access there with the stroller and all, they then told me they were going to switch room and have me in the main building; they were supposed to text me when the room was ready, they never did because they got my phone number wrong, twice; when we come back to see if the room was ready, the front desk gave me they key, we walk in the room and it wasn’t cleaned from the person before, there was even a pile of money left in the pillow… So then they put us back in the original building, we walk there and of course the room was not accessible for the stroller since there were stops in the middle of the hallway to get into my room. And no VIP gift was in it, I had to ask for it. I understand this is an older building and I have no problem going up down steps, but if you see a mom with 2 small children and an elderly person bags, at least offer a person from the staff to help get in and out of the room.

This collection of centuries old historic buildings is in grim structural and cosmetic shape. Service, as in front desk staff, bell staff or room service, only in one of 3 buildings. Window unit heating/cooling. Maybe go in for a drink and look at the old photos and documents on the walls but DO NOT stay here. Prices not competitive with less charming but more contemporary options

Checking in is a little tricky. There are three buildings for Historic Inns at different locations in downtown Annapolis. You have to check in at the Calvert House. If you don't use the valet parking, you are going to walk a while to get to the hotel. The room I had was in poor shape. Wallpaper pealing, the heating and A/C unit would shake you out of bed when it operated. The bathroom is very, very small. It had no towel hooks to hang the hand towel. The only place to hang a towel was in the shower. The room had poor ventilation so it smelled like a wet bathroom. The paint was lifting off the bathroom door and the hinges were covered in rust.

Wonderful hotel. Great Staff. The location is optimal to exploring downtown Annapolis. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. Only thing was the room was cold and it was hard to set the room temperature. But the linen bed were comfortable and the room was clean. Would recommend staying here

The Governor Calvert House is a beautiful, historic hotel that is in a perfect location. Lots of great restaurants, shopping and the Naval Academy are easy walks. The staff was fabulous and the rooms well appointed. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

Beautiful old venue right across the circle from the State House, a visitor point of interest. Large room with dark brown (yes! Very elegant) fabric wall covering. Upscale bedding. Large heavy furniture and beautiful carpet. Valet and front desk staff were gracious and helpful. Everyone was happy!

To preface we are European so are used to small hotel rooms. The main problem here (Maryland Inn) was that they used huge American size furniture (other than the bed). There was not space to move around the room without turning sideways or banging your hip on something. There was no bedside table on one side of the bed which was challenging and nowhere to hang even a hand towel in the bathroom or a place to set your toothbrush as the basin is curved and everything just slides down into the sink. The bed was also incredibly hard and it was difficult to keep the temperature in the room comfortable. You check in at one building and the walk to a different one, which would have been nice to know in advance. They give you a terrible map missing streets and street names and tell you the most complicated route to get there, when there is a much more straightforward route instead. They couldn't find out hotel.com booking at check in. It also appears we had to pay and additional 30+% of the averaged price due to undisclosed local taxes although I am still trying to figure this part out. Overall it was inexpensive for the location but definitely not worth the discomfort and hassle. We would not stay there again and I'm surprised by all the good reviews, although they might be for a different building.

I had a lovely stay at The Maryland Inn. The front desk staff were very friendly both during check in and check out. The accommodations were quite comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!
