Great bed, very small pool, bathroom was dirty when we went to shower( dog hai and dirty towels)… desk clerk did say that their housekeeping people had just walked out and they were in a little bit of a crisis with them being sold out. Restaurant was really good for both dinner and for breakfast. Make sure to buy your breakfast coupons with your reservation so it’s cheaper.

Staff was very nice and it is in a good location

The location of the property was convenient. It was tidy in the public areas. Housekeeping was pretty bad. We had to ask to have our room cleaned and basically they only changed our towels. There was no toilet scrubber in the bathroom and they totally ignored the toilet to the point I was afraid to use my toothbrush. The bed was not made, they simply pulled the duvet over the pillows, left the sheets hanging on the floor. I've traveled extensively and never have seen anything like it. The price of the hotel had almost doubled from the first time I looked and I suspect this was done because of a little league baseball tournament but the service was awful. Also, the complimentary breakfast was pretty bad. I will probably return to this area but most likely will not stay here. I am so surprised because IHG usually does a much better job.

Stayed there Thursday through Monday never got our room cleaned. Always had to ask for towels, coffee. We were always told to come get it because we don't have enough help. The king suite we had was roomy. The was comfortable and lots of pillows. The main issue was the couch in the living area. Both arm rest were broken and hanging off. The couch was 10+years old. Cushions were so beat up. We ask for a new couch and what they did was wheel in a twin mattress with linen. Just a mess. Overall clean hotel in main areas. Front desk service employes were eating pizza while talking to me.

This was a last minute spontaneous trip to Galena. Dubuque was only 10 minutes up the road and offered more in the way of hotels and dining locally. We weren't interested in staying in a B&B and this hotel had great reviews.

The fridge door did not seem to seal properly. May need to be fixed.

Clean and cozy

Convenient location, nice amenities, clean

For a moderately priced hotel, this was really nice. Hotel was very clean, as was the room. Bed was quite comfortable for us. Not too hard or too soft. My only negative would be no exhaust fan in the bathroom, not even the continuous kind. We have stayed here before several times and would definitely stay here again. Lots of dining choices within walking distance.

Nice location, loved the free shuttle!

Pretty damn good

Check-in took a long time because the receptionist was on a very long call with someone asking questions about the hotel...it seemed like an eternity. She probably should have put the person on hold and checked the three different people including me in. The shuttle was super convenient and that guy was great!

The Holiday Inn is a nice hotel in downtown Dubuque. It is new and modern and quite comfortable. The rooms were nice and clean and we had a great view from our room. We had plans for most of the afternoon and early evening outside of the hotel. We planned to enjoy the evening in the hotel pool and hot tub. But the hot tub was not functional and the pool area had a big sign that says "Under Renovation". Disappointed that we could not use the hot tub.
