It was a delightful to stay at this hotel. The architecture, the decor, the helpfulness of the staff was exceptional. I highly recommend this as a place to stay

The room was lobby was lovely, and the room was clean. We had pre-ordered champagne to the room for our evening arrival and it was not there. The front desk was dismissive when we went to ask about it and did not make it right. Overall the hotel location was on point, very accessible for walking the gardens and Citadel Hill. I would likely not stay again though as the initial arrival service was truly lacking, there are only some many getaways one gets and I’d prefer a hotel that is responsive.

The petite room was perfect for one person. The room was clean and well appointed, and the bed was comfortable. Room service was fast and delicious. One of the best hotel staff experiences I have ever had. When they found out that my mom was having surgery at the hospital near by, they send a small gift to my room in support. It was so sweet and caring and really buoyed my spirits. Would absolutely recommend.

Accessibility from parkade poor. Parking pass did not work upon departure, so had to pay extra. Still waiti g for supetvisor to return my call from the hotel

Pros:Nice and helpful staff, Arms restaurant makes an excellent martini and the parking garage was easy to use clean and relatively well priced. Cons: Tiny rooms, dated, good hear guest and other room easily old hotel old rooms. Bathroom was so small at 6’5” i couldn’t literally sit on the toilet, the tank touch the wall on the one side so you could not sit straight on it. My wife at 5’3” could just make it work. i had to plan my day

Beautiful historic hotel. I loved the “old world” lobby, moody bar/restaurant.

Amazing room and great layout. Very clean and fresh. The shower space was over a bath tub and a bit small. A full shower stall would be a better fit as the bath tub was very small and I wonder how often it gets used. Check-in was a breeze and the overall decor was immaculate! Close to everything in town so we walked everywhere. We will be back again!

We had a great stay at the Lord Nelson Inn & Suites. Its central location worked out great, between spending time at Dalhousie and the waterfront. The staff were super friendly and the rooms were comfortable with everything that you’d need. Will definitely be staying there again.

Parking was not well explained and we ended up parking in the wrong area (P5) and had to go move our vehicle and come back in, then the card they gave us didn’t work to park in P1 so we had to park in P2, go back in do it again and get a new card. I called on the phone peor to arriving to ask about parking. I was told to park and then go in to check-in. Knowing what I know now, that made no sense as we needed the card to park where we were suppose to and be close to the actual hotel entrance. Wasted an hour+ of our time figuring this out not to mention using to continue circling the block to exit and get back in on a really bus day with a lot of traffic and pedestrians. That part didn’t feel like a great guest experience. Also, the milk and cream in our hotel room were curdled and unusable so no coffee for us when we woke up- we ended up leaving earlier than planned just to to go find good coffee etc. in order to start the day.
