Recently reopened, it’s very clean and in good shape. Great location for my needs and beautiful, quiet, comfortable room. What shows that it’s been closed for a period of time are the level and quality of service. Restaurant and housekeeping staff are very friendly and earnest although apparently inexperienced. There’s not the same welcoming vibe by the guys at the door and concierge desk that was renowned in years past. Check in was not great as my room wasn’t ready until well after 3pm and then there was some confusion. The food is not up to the standard it was at before it closed and the selection and availability of restaurant hours is reduced. They are clearly trying to get up to speed and we’ll likely give them another go next year.

Wow, just the best , super friendly , and super hotel 24 hour room service was excellent Abou and Cinque and Busie names that I remember were exceptionally kind and attentive ( my apologies if I didn’t spell names correctly ) but everybody was great. I will be back next year same time again and will look forward to stay here again.Thanks Hilton Durban!

Hotel was excellent, staff were very friendly and helpful, parking and hotel felt very secure, great breakfast. Downside was room location, there was very loud music from cultural events playing from the exhibition centre each of the 3 nights, very disappointing as we have a child land we all had problems sleeping before the curfew

Upon check-in we had quite a few problems One of them was down to a very rude stuff member behind the counter. They told us to sit down and wait. When we eventually got our room we found that someone had already been in the room and had left all their possessions in the room we reported this to staff and admittedly they did upgrade us to a better room and gave us executive lounge access which improved our perception of Hilton however we found that the room service was particularly slow especially when ordering food to the room so honestly I don't think we would stay Hilton again based on that experience we paid a significant amount of money for a 3 nights stay. We obviously expected better for a large chain like Hilton it was really disappointing the only positive thing I have to say is that one of the reception staff was very helpful later on in the week.

I spent one night at the Hilton and chose that Hilton because it was close to the cruise port where I was joining a ship the next day. The hotel arranged a driver to collect me from the airport who was exceptional. My luggage was lost and the flight was late and he waited for me and was absolutely charming. The staff at check in were so polite, kind and personable. There wasn’t a single member of staff who did not greet me every time I saw them. The hotel is spotless. I was told by one member of staff it was an old hotel but my room was beautiful and big. I recently stayed in a 4 star hotel in london which was a third of the size and four times the price. As I had no luggage I was pleased to see the Crabtree and Evelyn products. I asked the advice of where to go shopping and the front desk sorted an uber for me. I had a lovely meal in the evening and the breakfast was good with lots of variety. To be honest I travel all the time and it was great to feel completely safe as a solo traveller and to be in a really spotless environment. Sadly as I had no luggage I couldn’t use the gym or pool. The other Hilton is near the amazing Mall I visited but I wanted to be near the cruise terminal and could literally see my ship from my window. The staff make the hotel and are a credit to the Hilton brand.

Arrived at the hotel at 130pm, I was told check in is at 3pm but they will arrange a room at 2pm which never happened , finally got the key at 250pm, only 1 lift in this more than 12 floor hotel was operational for most of my stay, so you can expect long lift delays when it is busy , requested additional towels from housekeeping which never came, after 130 am the room phone would ring twice & cut off, I tried calling reception to find out what the problem was but it seem staff took the the night off, finally at 3am I had to put the phone off the hook, this hotel can now be classified as an ex 5 star hotel downgraded to a 3 star, staff are not professional either in customer services,

I was disturbed cos it took the hotel more than 5 hours to get my booking which was frustrating for my son. Over and above that we had to show proof many times pertaining to breakfast. Not impressed

It’s a beautiful hotel. I understand since Covid they had been closed till last month so a lot of work is being done to get things running. Some few things may not be working well but generally I loved the place. Their restaurant meal has so many options especially for breakfast. Chefs are all very friendly and ready to get you something of your choice which is not necessarily on the menu for dinning or lunch options. The staff are great from waiters and waitress in the restaurant to all staff in the lobby to room service. I was treated like a queen. Thank you Hilton. They are my best option for hotels in any country unless there’s none☺️
