We often have an overnight stay when we have a something to celebrate. Yesterday was our Nephew's 30th birthday. The Malmaison in Newcastle never disappionts. Fabulous staff. Lovely rooms and a fabulous breakfast.

We had a very comfortable, clean, spacious room overlooking the Millenium Bridge. We needed to be quiet, as we were attending a family funeral. And it was. The facilities in the room are excellent. You have everything you need and more. Watch out for extemely hot water in the shower. Also, we paid an extortionate amount of money for a 10/15 minute taxi ride which the hotel booked for us. I would suggest booking an Uber or Google a local company. Lastly, the food is delicious, but we thought quite expensive (there is a Prix Fixe menu). Our breakfast was included in our room rate, so was cost effective and excellent. We will definitely revisit Malmaison and do recommend.

Our room was beautiful. Even had Arran Aromatic toiletries! The bar / lounge area on the 1st floor was beautiful. The spicy sweet corn soup was amazing lol

Very spacious room. We booked a twin room that had two very comfortable double beds and plenty of space to move around comfortably. It was very clean.

The property is very worn and outdated. The carpet in the lift looks like an offcut from years ago. The room was ok but no soundproofing so we were kept awake by the other guests walking past our room. The bathroom needs a serious upgrade because it looks drab, worn and outdated. I’ve previously enjoyed stays at other Malmaison hotels but this one feels like they’ve put the Malmaison name on another hotel. Also the fact that there was renovation works at the hotel didn’t help towards my experience because the noise and no water from 11am was very inconvenient.

Arrived 2.35pm, although i had applied for an upgrade, no rooms available till 3pm. My room upgade was bridge view, unfortunately on the second floor and a large tree directly in front, we didn't actually have any bridge view orher than its very dirty top.

I was only a 1 night stay (checked in 13June) to celebrate our post 23rd wedding anniversary. It was after work, just had a meal and a little walk by the river side. Went back to hotel and fell asleep. Lol… basically we only stayed in the hotel to sleep so tired.. The hotel is lovely and receptionist said our room was newly renovated. Can’t say much, all I know the hotel is lovely close to bar and restaurants.. We slept like a log.

Great location at the Millennium Bridge end of Newcastle Quayside with good bridge views. Suitable location for our evening event venue in Broadchare. Hotel under going room refurbishments & guests advised by receptionists on check in - perhaps should note this on website but no real disruption for our 1 night stay. We were given a refurbished room which was nice but nothing really stood out that it had been renovated. It was darkly decorated with the Malmaison flair but comfortable and spacious.
