This was a nice hotel. Stayed 2 nights. The location is great, right in the middle of everything in Durango. A block from the train station if you are doing that. Right near many local restaurants and bars ( as a side not, you must check our derailed as it is a great bar with great unique drinks ). Now the hotel is old, so the rooms are not very big and do not have a lot of modern features a new hotel would have. Speciically, no regfrigerator and shower stall was very small. But other than that, room was clean, bathroom clean and bed was comfortable. The bar was nice. Had a dinner there and the food and drinks were pretty good and the prices were not so bad. There was live music with a piano player and he was good. Parking was about 1/2 a block away. There is a closer lot but it is right behind the building and only has like 4 or 5 spots. But you can unload and pack up right at the front door. I parked my car after unloading and didn't need my car for the rest of my stay. Overall great place

Awesome! Wonderful hotel, so much detail in everything. Great visit. Even had a small room journal for each guest to write in about their visit & where they had travelled from. Only problem we had was trying to find parking lot late at night being as we were tired. Nice meal at Mahogany Grille & enjoyable drinks at Diamond Belle saloon with ladies dressed in costumes! So much fun!

Quaint historic hotel with updates. Very nice rooms. Antiquated but otherwise functional bathrooms. Pleasant public spaces. Excellent location for walking downtown and getting to the railroad. Train departures in the morning will wake light sleepers who aren't going. Extensive parking facilities in adjacent lots (free) so don't really have to use your car at all during your stay or be concerned about parking in town.

Beautiful historic hotel with small rooms. Good dining options...but sadly no breakfast options at all. Great, walkable location. Perfect for easy access to the train depot.

The entire stay was great. Loved the restaurant with live ragtime music, the secret discoveries and the private hot tub room.

Had to walk from parking area which was not close to hotel with luggage. Not ADA compliant. Was not told ahead of time about the water outage that was from 2am-6am. By the time we left at 7am there was still no water! The staff at check in and check out was non caring about the lack of water. They offered no solution to having no water to even flush a toliet. A partial refund would have been nice since it was not a cheap hotel stay!

Hotel parking not at all customer friendly especially for customers with special needs. Hotel staff made NO accommodation nor any care to do so. In addition, water was not available throughout stay. Hotel made no effort toward compensation.

Blown away by the detail to preserve the history. Will visit here again and have already recommended this location to others planning trips to the area.

Interesting antique furniture. My only criticism is that no breakfast was available at the hotel.

Great old hotel. Neat history. Very charming. BUT everything out dated .couldn't turn around in the little shower . Limited power outlets. No fridge or micro etc. Fun place but getting out dated.
