I like this place a lot and wouldn't hesitate to go here again. It is a great value at this price. My one gripe is the bathroom. It is small and the shower was finicky, cramped, and too low for me. My 5'4" wife even complained about it. Otherwise, this place is pretty terrific.

We had a one night stay here last weekend. We were very warmly welcomed and were given detailed instructions on the services and directions to the room we chose. It was quiet but very convenient as there were many restaurants just 2 minutes drive away. Honestly, before choosing this place to stay for our trip, I read the comments from many other guests about this place. There were quite a few mixed opinions about the service, the rooms were not well soundproofed, etc. So when I arrived here I was a little worried because I had experienced a place where they were not enthusiastic in their work as well as treated me with racial discrimination. However, I was very happy and felt very peaceful when Carmel Valley Lodge and Resort was very warm in their service and professional in their business and treatment of their customers. We were so happy to wake up one morning in their breakfast room, a woman welcomed us very enthusiastically and prepared simple but nutritious dishes for us. We had a trip to explore the beautiful coastal roads and had a peaceful and comfortable place to rest. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, prepared the bedroom, and served us a delicious breakfast at Carmel Valley Lodge and Resort.

Very accommodating, put together a charcuterie tray and a bottle of Pinot Nior on our arrival. Very friendly, sent text messages asking if anything more that they could do, they are willing. Great places to eat within walking distance. “Loved” it!!

I guess it was off season? Arrived around 8 and had jacuzzi/pool all to myself…. great little spot!

Expedia property description was wrong and misleading! Description clearly specified room with kitchen, but hotel staff said that's not the case. You can bring your dog for $30/night, but there's literally no grass area in the "resort". Room does not have A/C, good thing we visited in winter. TV does not support streaming service like Netlix that you can login with your account.

Family owned, this spot specializes in unique decor and creative arts. The continental breakfast was beyond compare: fresh-baked pastries and fancy egg dishes were offered each day.

Our group of six cyclists love Carmel Valley Lodge. Staff are very personable and helpful. The lodge has a charm that the hotel chains cannot match. The locally roasted "Fog Cutter" coffee was excellent. The included breakfast was outstanding, freshly made, and had lots of variety. We would have rated five stars, but there were a few problems. The heater thermostat had a faulty switch that required switching it on and off a few times if the temperature setting changed. New batteries were needed for the mini-spit remote in one of the bedrooms, and a new battery was needed for a fire alarm in another bedroom...it kept beeping off an on throughout the night. I have every confidence the staff will quickly fix these problems.

Wonderful staff, very accommodating. Great breakfast. It is a beautiful property with a great pool and spa. Will definitely return.

Charming property. Perfect for our weekend trip.

The check in process was very easy. The manager was the absolute sweetest person and her doggy assistant is so adorable. The fireplace was our dog’s favorite place to relax. Upon check in we were given a list of walking distance restaurants and wineries (many of which were dog friendly!)

Nice room. Spacious and clean. Lots of cool creative touches around the property. Very quaint. Nice pool. Only issues are that the walls are thin.
