The bathroom had mould around the taps and edge of the bath growing, the spa changing rooms were neglected and the tv in the room is out dated. Also the gym equipment is not maintained, its falling apart and making ridiculous noises.

Staff were very nice but the arrival registration at 3pm was very slow due to large line of customers. Room very nice, upgrade but looking out onto a wall and air conditioner yard. Not very happy with that. Website showed gardens. Also lighting very dull.

The room was spacious, but it’s clearly in need of some TLC. There was an excessive build-up of mould in the bathroom, which is unacceptable, and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor quality, and despite the advertised 3pm check-in, our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. We stayed here a few years ago and it was good then, with real personality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, it feels like that’s now been lost. Perhaps it’s time the hotel reconsidered calling itself a four-star establishment.

We landed from Manchester so thought we book a nice hot tub so we reached hotel very late around 10pm so thought go to hot tub early morning we waited for staff for a while then finally got to the tub and it wasn’t working. If I knew this would have gone straight home not wasted money on a hotel. It was a crso service for a five star hotel so no wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Gym good, staff good, setting good, room good. Evening food - very overpriced for the quality delivered. 2 warmish ( I suspect microwaved) satay sticks with side sauce, the smallest and worst medium sirloin (overcooked) I’ve ever had with a few oven chips 1/2 tomato on a mushroom & 2 beers £64. A huge let down. Would not return - there’s too many similar and better options available.

We had room 40, which was extremely spacious and well appointed, and very clean. The bathroom was equally well appointed, but I have one small issue with bath/shower units, that is the very nature of the slopping floor of the actual bath makes them difficult to keep your feet, particularly when getting out after a shower when both feet and the bath surface are wet. One hand definitely needs to be keeping a tight hold of the wall mounted grab handle to prevent a fall.

Bed/ mattress needs replacing due to wear and dents/ dips where people have slept and worn grooves into the mattress. Both sides, specifically room 12 (stayed previously) and 17 (last night) - although other rooms are similar unfortunately as I have stayed before and had the same issue. Feedback provided previously with no response/ acknowledgement received. Also no hairdryer in the room.

Lovely stay and great staff, we had one of the suites which didn’t disappoint! The only complaints I would have is the spa jacuzzi out of use and very tough sleeping pillows!

Beautiful large room, in good decorative order with nice products, ample parking and lovely rural views. Breakfast is not cooked to order, which for the price of the rooms might have been expected, however for a hot buffet it was pretty good and the cold buffet was also good quality. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have time to use the spa.

A bit of a double sided review. The staff were lovely and the grounds of the hotel were lovely as well. It’s a Gorgeous historical building but I feel like it could do with some upkeep. The corridor to our room wasn’t the best as there were signs of damp. The room itself was a lovely size with a back door leading into a lovely little courtyard. I wouldn’t recommend the breakfast as there wasn’t much variety and it wasn’t all that nice, the scrambled eggs and the bacon were really rubbery. The spa wasn’t much of a spa as the hot tub was out of order and the majority of the lockers in the changing rooms were broken. It’s shame because it had a lot of potential to be really great but I feel like with a little bit of care it would be a lovely place to stay. At this moment in time I wouldn't recommend staying here

Evening meal in restaurant was ok main was delicious but dessert was a let down completely. Rooms was lovely and clean downside was the two single mattresses squashed together to make a double and the tv signal was a hit and miss. All in all a lovely weekend break away!!
