The hotel is undeniably grand and makes a strong first impression. Unfortunately, I experienced a few issues during my stay.
There were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. As an early riser (I’m usually awake by 5am), I would have really appreciated being able to make my own coffee. Instead, I had to wait two hours and cross the road to Starbucks each morning. Breakfast runs from 7:00am to 10:30am and only offers filtered coffee, which, sadly, wasn’t very good. The breakfast overall was disappointing — on two consecutive days there wasn’t even any butter available for toast.
There’s also no outdoor space to relax in the evening and enjoy some fresh air. While there is a lounge area, it has no windows, which makes it feel quite enclosed.
That said, the staff were extremely helpful throughout my stay, especially Lucia, who was fantastic.
The location also wasn’t ideal for what we wanted to explore.
Overall, while the hotel is impressive in appearance and has lovely staff, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
