Great location. Feels rural - my friend saw a kingfisher! - but is right next to a useful small retail park and very reachable by road. Everything except the bath plug worked. Cosy. Nice staff. Excellent breakfast. For the night that we booked, it was good value, though it often costs more.

It was the venue for our 60 year reunion of when we all met at teacher training college in Barry in 1965. The duty manager (?) could not have done more for us and made our reunion dinner an event to remember. We all enjoyed our meals and loved being able (and encouraged) to sing the songs from our college days. Thank you so much

Room was spotless and breakfast was excellent.

Stayed overnight for my wife’s College Reunion. Lovely, spacious room (407) with good facilities, including very comfortable, king-sized bed and great, over-bath shower. All the staff were attentive and efficient, providing friendly but not overly-familiar service. ‘Sir’ and ‘Madam’ used, rather than the ‘Mate’ which seems prevalent in some establishments. Delicious, buffet breakfast!

Had a lovely weekend at the hotel, great friendly welcome at reception upon check in. The food in the restaurant was lovely as was the breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean, would happily return.

The property was quiet, the lake aspect was lovely. The view from the dining room over the lake was stunning. Some of the hotel decor was unusual and interesting. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Thank you for your booking which was made as above.   Upon being allocated the room, we had a quiet night. The following morning upon looking at the bedlinen we realised that there were faecal marks on the bed linen which we had used. These faecal marks were well caked on the linen showing that this was from previous usage. The Hotel staff was immediately informed and they seemed unperturbed by this. We then ripped all the bedlinen ourselves and asked for fresh bedlinen. As Hotel Team was immediately informed of the situation they agreed as to what had been observed. As a Hotel guest my expectation of a 4 star hotel is at least to provide clean bedding which was clearly failed by Copthorne Hotel. This is an unacceptable manner of providing a service as this breeds disease moreover to children. I would like to bring to your attention that faeces do pose high risks of allergy reactions and resapiratory and skin infections. Bearing in mind the above the room was not immediately thoroughly cleaned No room exchange was offered which brought about anxiety and restlessness during the stay. My understanding is that it is the responsibility of the Hotel to provide clean bed linen as well as environment. As we had come from London we were unable to check out we were forced to stay in such an environment with children. However photos of the faecal marks were taken and can be provided as and when required.

Great location and convenient, however they could have better food options. Also the food was overpriced. The prices need to be cheaper! Not worth it.

A convenient location. Plenty of free parking. Large room, comfortable bed. Fast service in the bar and restaurant. Easy check-in.

Over all we enjoyed our stay, however on Saturday 9th August prior to leaving ny husband and i sat chatting with my sister. At this time there was the most unsavoury & disruptive altercation between a family who came to the lobby more than once. Not dure if those people were staying at the hotel. Abusive language at a loud volume did not make for a nice conclusion to a family meeting unfortutely.

Great stay, great staff, clean rooms, powerful shower, and very comfortable beds. Stayed for 5 weeks excluding weekends (business).

Me and 2 children age 3 and 7 had a fabulous stay. Staff were so kind and generous they even gave the children bread for the birds on the lake .I would definitely recommend the hotel and give a 100 % score to all the staff . Thank you

No leisure club facilities available, was informed on the booking page and the hotel would not refund us. Also they wanted £50 deposit on arrival which again we weren't aware of and have not been refunded so far for this. Nosey bikes and cars reving outside late at night. Food prices expensive.

The hotel was easy to find, easy to park and the staff both in reception, restaurant for dinner and breakfast were first class ( Possibly the best I've interacted within in UK ).. they upgraded room to lakeside which was lovely but the only criticism was the double bed i booked ended up being 2 single beds pushed together which resulted in me only be able to sleep on one half as the gap in-between just swallowed you up
