Rooms need an upgrade and better air-conditioning more fans or more ventilation. Room was hot and stuffy after a long day drive. Reception staff were friendly on phone.

Bucket list location, and for that a readonable price, but surrounding area not particularly pleasant, grounds smelly and reception close at 3.30pm!

I did not like the militant notices in the bedroom. For the cost of the accommodation, it is expected that we shouldn't have to empty out the rubbish or wash the dishes. We did but that is not the point. It was a hotel not a caravan park.

Amazing hotel. Carved out of rock underground. Extremely helpful and friendliest staff ever. Just the hotel alone is a unique experience. Right next door to the Old Timer's Mine which is another fascinating attraction. Clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced.

In our room we could hear everything that was happening in the adjoining room through the (locked) connecting door so we had to put a mattress up to block it off. Their kids were very lively!!

Road trip from Melbourne to Uluṟu via Coober Pedy. Melissa at reception was the highlight. Super friendly, welcoming and Informative. Local of 30 years corrected our misguided perception of Coober Pedy after reading statistics from Red Suburbs site about the “violent crime” in the town. Statistics are totally misleading and relate to an isolated incident that happened in late 2023 from visiting Alice Springs mob who made their way to Coober Pedy for a funeral. The mob ran riot everyday for the 2 months they were there, breaking into local businesses and houses, harassing locals and tourists. Locals so fed up they arranged two buses, at their expense, to return them back to Alice. Coober Pedy locals are welcoming and harmless. They love and are proud of their town. Pay them a visit and visit The Comfort Inn. Excellent laundry facilities, cafe available, rooms comfortable (although a tad warm) BUT the adventure of staying in a cave was all well worth it! Thanks Melissa and Coober Pedy…a town we will not forget!

The property itself lives upto its expectation as a proper dug out and with that comes its pros and cons. The room, although cool, can get stuffy, so i left the door open and used the supplied fans to circulate the air when i could. The room is amazingly dark and quiet, which makes for a good nights sleep. The presentation of the room by its design is rudimentary. Electric cabling is exposed, the cupboard is a hole in the wall, but for me this added to the character, lending to a sanitised 'real mine' feel. There was tea and coffee in the room as well as a kettle, toaster and microwave. There is a little DVD library, if you just want to vegitate in the coolness of the room. The continental breakfast was a bit pricey, but had a pretty good array of options, including toasted waffles and fruit juices; you could really fill up to start the day. The staff are really friendly, informative and helpful. Knowing what to expect, id happily stay there again.
