Breakfast had only waffles and coffee for couple days, honestly this property shouldn’t even claim they serve breakfast. When they eventually had eggs, it was a cold boiled egg. Room was no quite clean. The side of the bed on the floor was dirty. Asked for room service and it still wasn’t cleaned. Staff was pleasant at check in.

The second I walked into our room I noticed my sheets were dirty. When I spoke to front desk regarding the situation and showing her the photos she just handed me a new set of sheets and pillow cases. Our hairdryer didn't work nor the light above the shower. I guess I at least expected an apology for the state of our room or the opportunity to correct it. It was definitely disappointing and I felt that the hospitality was lacking. We drove 6 hours for my brother's naval graduation and I at least expected to have a clean room to sleep in

I had to cancel my stay due to change in plans that were out of my control. The stay was cancelled days in advance and Expedia contacted the Sleep Inn near Great Lakes on my behalf to ask for a refund. Although it was cancelled days in advance the hotel refused to provide a refund. Be wary of these people as they are crooks and will steal your money.

Booking through Expedia in April I never received a confirmation email so when I called to change the reserved room, I was told there is no reservation and because it was important to be there to support my family, I made a reservation again. When we arrived, I was told that there were two rooms reserved after all and because they had already been paid for through a third party they could do nothing to help even when I asked the man at the desk if I could get a copy of the confirmation numbers for both reservations, I was told that all it would show is my name. When I returned the next morning and asked the girl at the desk another man came from the office and printed the paperwork with the reservations including confirmation numbers. I will not use Expedia again. The room was clean but small, the bathroom had a pocket door that did not lock and was also small. We let our one son stay in the original room so I do not know whether it was better. While the original man was not outright rude, he appeared uncooperative and uncaring except to make excuses that everything was due to using a third party and when I told him I tried to find a local number (even going online to Chicago yellow pages) I was always directed to the number I called and could not contact the hotel directly. The only other staff we interacted with were the ones who actually helped me on Friday morning. But I know I have never paid so much for so little.

The staff was polite and the room was clean. Personally, I really appreciated how housekeeping is only available on request rather than a matter of course.
