Beautiful, access to the ocean, great location, great staff

Fantastic resort

We paid for an ocean view room that came with either a king or twin bed. We were celebrating our 15 year wedding anniversary so before we went I sent them a message asking if we could have the king bed with a great view of the ocean. To my surprise they put us in the most beautiful suite, a gesture that was kind and beautiful but not expected at all. Such a fun surprise and made for an amazing experience at the Cliff Bay hotel for our first time in Madeira.

We were expecting the WOW factor, and the lobby did not disappoint on arrival, however when we arrived at our room, it was clean but a bit tired and could do with refurbishing. The fridge did not work very well and there was no ice maker. We raised this and were told that we could get ice from room service. A bit of a pain so we went to get the ice from the bar. Also it would have been good to have fresh milk for tea & coffee instead of little cartons. The food was very good, we ate in the Rose Garden one night and Avista Mediterranean another night. The food by the pool was disappointing. We would return but there are other hotels to try near by.

The location and views were amazing. Staff were helpful attentive throughout our whole stay. Would definitely go back.

Superb hotel!

Cliff Bay is a fantastic hotel, with the most amazing views. Staff were excellent, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left they couldn’t do enough for you. Spotlessly clean hotel with great facilities. Really lovely 4 night stay .Only slight downside is that the air conditioning could be a bit colder .

Phenomenal hotel & staff. It’s close in proximity to so many activities or you can choose to stay and relax while having the best views!

Exceptional hotel and service. Everything was top notch

We had an absolutely outstanding stay! Our room had the most outstanding view of the bay and the staff were always extremely polite, kind and professional. The ocean and pool area was very stunning and there was always a chair available. The restaurants were second to none and the spa was very relaxing. The excursions suggested by the hotel made our visit magical! We will certainly return.
