Just about the best service I've ever encountered at a hotel. Great location with easy access to the tube.

I stayed here for work, so I was not the one who booked originally - but now that I have stayed here, it will be my go-to when I return to London in the future, for business or pleasure. It was just the most incredible experience - the location is perfect, with easy access to Green Park Station, you can easily get to and from the airport and to and from all of the major attractions throughout the city. Be sure to try to book a bay view room, as the bay windows overlook Green Park, which leads straight to Buckingham Palace. You are only one tube stop or a short walk from the Westminster attraction hub, and you are right in the midst of one of the nicest areas of London, with Mayfair and Soho to your left and behind you upon exiting the front doors, and Knightsbridge/Chelsea/Kensington to your right. You are just a brief walk from dozens of historic pubs, high-end retail stores, luxury automobile malls, and attraction shops like Fortnum and Mason and Harrods. There is an M&S Food right around the corner, too. The hotel staff went above and beyond; London hotels are known for their doormen and hospitality, but this was impressive nonetheless. The staff was very kind, dressed on-theme, and extremely helpful. The room was nice, and all the amenities were as advertised. The food is also very good, with breakfast being my personal favorite. The terrace is a lovely place to enjoy drinks right on Piccadilly.

The staff at this hotel are superb and the location is ideal for sightseeing, I would definitely stay here again.

A very warm welcome and early check-in which was much appreciated. Check-in was highly efficient. Doormen were very friendly and eager to assist. If anything, front of house service was a little overbearing. I fully appreciate that staff are striving to deliver the most attentive service, but at times it felt more intrusive rather than helpful. The room was finished to a fair standard, but lacked the luxurious feel of 5*. The breakfast buffet is adequate, but not outstanding. There is a basic selection of pastries, cereals, yoghurts and fruit. Staff were slow to replenish the buffet and the service at breakfast was somewhat lacking. The fitness facility is poor, but I am extremely grateful to a manager who arranged for me to use a gym at a neighbouring hotel. The price point of this hotel is excellent and the location is superb.

Immaculate room with everything you need. All electrics and air conditioning very modern spec. Very comfortable bed. Modern decor and a very nice size.

Absolutely fantastic staff at The Athenaeum. Every single member of staff we encountered were so friendly and helpful. Special mention to the doormen who went above and beyond. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Great attention to detail and very friendly staff, from doorman, to reception and concierge, to cleaning staff. First day I arrived a bit earlier from airport and was able to get early check in. Was also jet lagged and had a couple Nespresso cups in room. The next day staff filled coffee bar with pods I drank plus extras of the ones I liked. Small things like that throughout my stay, that most hotels ignore and show attention to detail.
