Someone rang the bell on our room then walked in 5 seconds later without any approval to ask if we wanted some milk. No hotel worker should be able to let themselves in to your room unannounced. Also had people banging on our door and screaming in the hall at 1-2am. Had some really nice stays here previously but this stay was really uncomfortable.

Great location right in the centre of Chester. Friendly quick check in. Room spacious with everything you need. Have stayed before. Continental breakfast really good choice of quality food, great service. Thanks to all for an enjoyable stay.

Fantastic location, a few steps to begin the city walls walk. Comfortable beds,good size room, helpful staff.Breakfast included,but hot breakfast was an extra charge.

The staff was professional and accommodating. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The bar was limited. The exercise room was better than most, but small. Location is perfect. Value for money is good.

Cooked breakfast is extra and was delicious. Scrambled eggs are scrumptious. Staff friendly and professional. Clean room, comfortable bed and very clean bathroom. Bathroom toiletries ie shower gel, shampoo & conditioner and hand and body lotion all provided and all Elemis products. Large fluffy bath towels, hand towels and face cloths very good quality. Evening dinner the food was exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed my mini break to Chester and staying in the Grovesnor hotel. I will definitely be returning.

GOOD SELECTION FOR BREAKFAST. A BIT SLOW ON THE SERVICE - HAD TO GO LOOKING FOR STAFF ON A FEW OCCASIONS AFTER WAITING FOR BUTTER, MORE TOAST, MORE JUICE. WOULD HAVE LIKED TO JUST REMAIN SEATED WITH A MUCH QUICKER RESPONSE FROM STAFF.

Staff absolutely superb, beautiful traditional hotel, they don't make them like this anymore! Room generous and room amenities excellent. Food superb although coffee iffy.

Breakfast was freshly cooked with what felt liked quality ingredients.

Dusty room issues with grout , tablet on floor ? Extension lead faulty noisy cistern noisy air ductwork… during night .generally old fittings. Request renovated room . Most staff are ok . Breakfast good and brasserie still nice .

Had a very relaxing time, really comfortable bed, nice mini bar, excellent food and drinks and the staff could not have been more helpfull.

Absolutely superb stay as always! Beautiful ‘Prince William Suite’, delicious food, wonderful breakfast and amazing staff who were all courteous, friendly and kind, and very accommodating of our 2 month old!
