Location is great. Room is very clean though very small, which would not be a problem except that they are tightly spaced and poorly isolated so every cough is heard. Guests behave well within that constraint. Breakfast in other reviews is overrated. It's fine though adding whole fruit instead of fruit salad would be an improvement. Weirdest thing is an all-day, all-night creepy noise coming through the pipes, sounds like an underworld villain playing a fife. We called it the Upside-Down demonic music.

An exceptional, charming, small independent hotel. Staff is wonderful, room is large, laundry service is included. This was such a lucky find, and I will absolutely stay there again when I come back to Paris, and will highly recommend the Grand Hotel Francais to everyone!

Really enjoyed our stay would love to visit again

This hotel was not super close to most tourist spots, but had nearby options for the metro. The neighborhood seemed authentic Parisian, where natives would shop and eat. We were recommended a couple of good restaurants nearby by the hotel staff, who were always helpful. The room was very small by North American standards, but had everything we needed. There is a breakfast room in the basement with a decent if not exciting offering for 14 euros. We were very pleased by the neighborhood.

The property was very clean, had all the facilities needed and the breakfast served was nice with lots of choice. All members of staff were friendly and helpful and the room was comfortable and very clean.

The A.C.unit of whole hotel was not working & we slept whole night without A.C.& fan, it was terrible expereince.I will never reccomend this property to anyone.The staff was least bothered about guest inconvienience.

Excellent choice for our hotel. We liked the location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Speaking English fluently. Room is a normal size for the location, tiny. The property may be a bit dated, but it was not detracting from the experience. We liked the room and amenities it provided.

Excellent, if of Euro size (to be expected!). Very clean and modern room. Very good breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff. The bed was a double, not a Queen (per description) a minor disappointment. No shampoo or conditioner.

We needed a one night stay close to my daughter’s apartment in Paris. So this hotel was convenient. A very typical Paris hotel. Small rooms and bathrooms. Clean enough. And very basic. Breakfast was offered upon arrival for the next morning which we thought was part of our accommodation. But upon checkout they charged us for the breakfast and tax.

We enjoyed our 14-night stay at Grand Hotel Français greatly! Our Superior Double room suited us very well: it was well-appointed, quiet, and very clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was immaculately clean but very small -- but that is to be expected in Paris! Note that the only English-language TV station available during our stay (May, 2025) was France 24 News (excellent, but adding BBC News and CNN might be a nice addition). Housecleaning service was excellent. Breakfast was a pleasure each morning with an excellent variety of fresh hot and cold food options, French pastries, great coffee and beverage choices, and pleasant service. We especially appreciated the uniformly positive, helpful, and welcoming demeanor of the hotel staff -- from the manager to the front desk to the breakfast staff to the housecleaning personnel. The hotel's location is outstanding with direct walking access in a safe and very Parisian neighborhood within a 5 min. walk from Place de la Nation without many tourists, and easy access there to many public transportation options (four Metro lines, RER, buses). Metro 9 is 2 min. walk away in the other direction and connects to everything. Perfect at a reasonable price. We felt welcomed and look forward to staying here again in the future.

We love this charming boutique hotel and have stayed here on several occasions. We have chosen this hotel in particular because the manger and staff are so helpful and welcoming. This is truly the highlight of staying here. The rooms are comfortable, and the location is great. It is easy to get to any part of the city you would like to visit, and the neighborhood has many innovative and creative restaurants. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Lovely hotel with fantastic service. The hotel is quaint and comfortable. The staff went advice and beyond, especially Mouloud. Will definitely be back.
