Really beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel, with lots of quirky features. It’s really convenient to get to from Bath city centre and a stunning escape from the hustle and bustle of London. Some of the room facilities do need updating though, basic things like the wardrobes have so many layers of paint on them that they do not close, one window wouldn’t open, the controls for the shower have been installed incorrectly (the hot/cold knob was actually the on/off switch and vice versa) and there were lots of marks and dings on the walls- the back of the bedroom door had a hole in that needed to be filled/painted for example. The sofa in the room also desperately needs a clean. The food at the hotel was excellent and the staff are lovely but it lacks finesse to make it a true 4 star hotel at the moment.
