Handy for Montchanin Gare SNCF, just come out of the station and turn left at the first intersection, it is approx 1/2 mile or a bit under 1 km

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a very disappointing experience. Towels & basic amenities: We booked for 2 adults and a baby, but only received 2 towels total. When we asked for extras, we were charged €2 per towel. No pool towels were available either, and the pool itself was uncomfortably cold. The room came with 2 sachets of instant coffee at check-in, but housekeeping never replenished them during our entire stay. For a hotel, this level of stinginess with basic items is unacceptable. Cleanliness & maintenance: The room was not properly clean. The shower didn’t work for 2 days, which was extremely inconvenient. Even worse, I cut my finger on a sharp edge of the bathtub and bled heavily — a serious safety hazard that should never exist in a hotel room. Overall, the combination of poor service, lack of upkeep, and unsafe conditions left us deeply dissatisfied. This hotel does not meet even basic hospitality standards, and I cannot recommend it. Positive was free parking and it’s kid friendly!

We had an overall pleasant stay. The staff were especially friendly and attentive during breakfast and dinner—always welcoming with a smile, which really made a difference. The food was surprisingly good for a hotel of this category, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. The location is also a big plus, very close to TGV train station—convenient to everything we needed and easy to get around. Given the amenities and service, the price was very reasonable. A couple of drawbacks to note: our room DID NOT HAVE A SMALL REFRIGERATOR, which would have been useful, and there was NO room view to speak of, which made the space feel a bit closed in. The room #202 looked over a roof top. Still, for the value and service, we’d consider staying again.

The hotel is advertised as having laundry facilities but does not. The lift wasn’t working and the power went out twice in the night, waking us up.

I have been staying at the hotel now for 25 years. The hotel is really looking its age. The hotel used to have a great chef, but now, it is simply fast food. The dinner was a 5 stars hotel price as was the wine for what was available at the local grocery store for 2 euros was 28 to 40 euros. The quality of of the food was fsst food grade. I like the locstion, but will probably change next time. Regards, SAB

Overnight stay as nothing else was available in the area. Was expecting at least a reasonable minimum standard given Novotel. Unfortunately rather disappointing - even at the price level. Lucky it was only one night....

The hotel was dated and the hallway where I stayed (second floor) was disgustingly dirty and smelly. It was likely the same on all floors! There was no iron or board in my room so I had to ask the front desk for one and all I received was an iron so I had to iron clothes on a table in my room. The outside of the hotel looks like it needs a massive power washing! The food and the people working there were frindly and accomodating though.

Le personnel est vraiment agréable, souriant. Je passe très souvent dans cet hôtel et il est vraiment agréable.

Pour un hôtel 3 étoiles, c'est correct, et le buffet petit-déjeuner est très bien. J'ai dîner pour un repas d'affaire. Le salé était très bien, le sucré, nul et inexistant, et le vin blanc et rouge mauvais.

Escale d’une nuit. Super accueil du veilleur de nuit. Le personnel du restaurant super sympa et serviable. On ne regrette pas notre arrêt dans cet hôtel qui n’a rien à envier aux hôtels de la gamme supérieur ! Merci !
