As many have commented, the facility is not brand new, but we can see that the bathrooms are renovated, and the linens are as clean as other Scandic hotels. Their Spa facilities are also excellent. Staff was also nice and helpful.

Very dated rooms and bathrooms. Restaurant service was focused on making things convenient for the waiting staff, not the client. Sadly this is common in Finland outside central Helsinki.

Few days of swim and Playstation with my eldest son. Hotel policy prevents connecting HDMI devices. Staff says ”they don’t have the authority”, but ”will try to do something” and does nothing. The same repeats with dining a’ la carte serving of a club sandwitch takes close to 40 minutes and the waiter ”does not know anything about the situation in the kitchen” and ”does not have the authority” to offer a starter from the buffet, but must ask the shift manager...who instead of being sorry for having me & my son waiting for the food starts an argument with me if the food has taken ”close to 40mins” or ”just a little over 30mins” to arrive. Well, makes no difference once the soggy club sandwich with cold and mushy fries arrive its clear that some places are beyond of salvage. So no point of talking about the soviet-era styled decor, worn out rooms and ridiculously patched ”eräsauna” which was essentially glued pieces of wood on top of a badly worn out tile sauna as a cheap patchwork. Summa summarum: unless soviet -style decor and service is your thing, you can do better elsewhere.

The hotel was far from full so we got quite attentive service. The staff were friendly. The family room was spacious enough with two small kids. Our room was clean and easily accessible with kids. There is only one restaurant on the premises, which at the time was open only from 4pm. The pools weren’t crowded and there was enough for our little ones to do for two days of splashing.

All-over nice place, comfy rooms, great breakfast buffet and lovely surroundings. The only negative thing I noticed was the lack of soundproofing; in my room I could hear very clearly what was going on in the corridor, and sometimes also in the next room. Thankfully, it was very peaceful and quiet that night.

Stayed here for a recent business trip, draw to the hotel was the pools and fitness facilities they listed. I didn’t get to use the pools but the gym was decently stocked allowing several good workouts to be carried out. Hotel isn’t new but it’s still to a good standard inside. Wi-fi was good even at the usual busy times regularly getting >30mbps. The shower was the highlight of the trip,I actually couldnt have it at full power, which after a hard day’s mucky work is nice and refreshing to feel clean. Breakfast was good although a bigger fruit selection would be a good idea. Worth noting that the hotel restaurant closes at 15:00 on a Sunday and the spas cafe shuts at 19:00 so worth bearing in mind if it’s a later check in.

Area is beautiful, lot to offer although many places closed due end of the summer. Spa was in annual cleaning and closed, summer cafe closed. Staff could have been more welcoming and helpful. Bikes were available without cost , bike paths super but the condition of bikes poor almost unsafe. Rooms were clean, as previously stated, the hotel could use update. We ate supper at the hotel, food rather price, taste OK. Other restaurants father away in Hameenlinna

Lovely Easter holiday; the sun was shining and it was so great to ski on the white snow of the lake and after that to go to the spa to swim. This place is close to the capital area as well so you do not need to travel to Lappland to ski. WE visited the Hämeenlinna Castle one day and walked around the hotel parks. The hotel itself is a little old and the rooms need to be updated but they are clean and ok.Breakfast a standad one. We had also a small Snautzer dog with us; a good place to take the pet with you as well.

The hotel is nice, if a little dated; the food in the restaurant is very nice, good selection for the buffet breakfast and lunch as well. The spa facilities are really nice and of good size. The staff are helpful and professional (could do with more smiles, but maybe that’s a cultural thing)

I would of liked a room safe and better comfortable beds. Didn't like a single bed, like a roomy comfortable bed

Hotel was decent considering there aren't many options in this area. I did not like there first room I had, which was smal, outdated, and had very poor WiFi signal. I was and to switch to a newer room and thankfully it had a mini fridge and better WiFi and was a bit larger in size, but certainly nothing luxurious. The entire property has an outdated look to it. Free parking was the major plus.

I was here for a business trip and the wifi was terrible. It would drop out constantly and have to reconnect. The pool and gym were nice, and included in the price of the room. Large breakfast buffet. Rooms were small and decorations were outdated. I had no minibar in my room, and could not be switched to a room that had one. This was very inconvenient for my weeklong stay. My colleague's first room had a window from the bedroom into the shower. She switched rooms and the shower there flooded into her bedroom.

Nice hotel with interesting history, very relaxing location. The food was excellent, and walks near the hotel were very scenic. We walked along the water several times, and the short walk up to Hameenlinna Tower was well worth the excellent views.
