The good - the property has beautiful lawn and a nice pool. Staff was helpful. They have a free shuttle that takes you about a kilometer and drops you close to Central Park. Breakfast was good. The bad - the building is pretty run down. The toilet was very dirty and we had to request room change. In new room bathroom got clogged and had yellow water. They tried and somewhat fixed it, but I think they have old plumbing issue. They charge cars about $3 for parking. It can be validated for taxis dropping and picking you. But not all taxis know it and it creates confusion with taxis refusing to come to the premises.

Breakfasts

This is a beautiful hotel with nice views to the volcanoes. It is located a little outside the city center but it is about a 15 min walk there. Everything in our room was clean and well maintained and the staff was friendly and attentive.

Bed are not comfortable , some staff are not attentive, they offer buffet, it is not buffet

The property is great . very much resort experience. Appreciate the ambeience as well. There were a couple of issues for us like 1. barely any options for vegans 2. the drinks at the pool side bar on thursday were really bad - compared to the Blue Bar which we indulged in the previous 2 nights

Soleil FAR exceeded our expectations as a place to stay in Antigua. Why? It is perfectly located - not close enough to be impacted by semana santa traffic but close enough to walk to all major points in the town within 20 minutes. If you don't want to walk, simply take a readily available tuk tuk - easy to hail and cheap. The room was fantastic - even had a fireplace and a great little porch. The restaurant was great - choose from buffet or order from the menu - fresh, local choices. Room cleaned everyday. Great view of one of the volcanoes - Agua I think. Pool was great. Trampoline for kids. Wonderful semana santa displays. You get the sense of being in an oasis within the town. Quiet - except for a rooster every morning. Staff was exceptional. You can easily get by with a mix of spanish and english. All in all an exceptional place to stay.

2nd stay in this hotel and it was an excellent experience again!

Good option for families

The food was basic, not many options to choose.

I would have given this place 5 stars except that they have a mouthy guy at the gate who didn't want to let me leave the property after I checked out unless and until I followed whatever strict ticket scanning protocol he had made up that day. He could have just pushed a button and lifted the gate after a quick radio call to the front desk to make sure I was on the up-and-up, but he decided instead to lord over his parking domain like a petty little tyrant. He lost them a star. Aside from that the place is almost perfect. There were some weird stains on the bedspread (come on, we all know what it was) and I didn't need to see that. Get rid of the gate guy and change out the bedspreads and you have a perfect hotel.

Nice place to stay

I stopped in Antigua for 2 days before heading to to Flores. The hotel is very much old Antigua. It’s beautiful and has lush greenery surrounding the buildings. The staff is very attentive and nice. They accommodate as much as possible. We arrived early morning

Very nice place, clean and quiet rooms, friendly staff . Restaurant on site was good if not a bit pricey but that’s expected. The layout of the hotel allows for a good sleep . Staff was very friendly and accommodating , location is great as it’s a few min away from the main streets but close enough for a quick walk .

I got asked to pay for my breakfast when it was included in the price. Took a while to sort out. Communal areas a bit noisy because of a convention but bedroom peaceful. Great swimming pool - 25 meters long!

Everything was great. However, I think there are just two things that could use some improvement. First, the water temperature in the shower was impossible to control; I nearly scalded myself with the hot water. Second, when I ordered food at the bar in the afternoon (I had the sushi), the dish looked nothing like the photo, and the rice was undercooked—it was quite unappetizing. That said, if I travel to this area again in the future, I would certainly stay here once more. The service was excellent, and the staff members were very friendly.
