Nice, friendly staff. Basic room but comfy beds, meals that came out looked nicely presented but we didn’t eat. Quiet lounge area to chill in if you don’t want to sit in the bar or restaurant.

We enjoyed our time at the Olde Barn Hotel. It was a trip to visit family who lived local. In general the stay was good, the food was ok except for one morning when we down for breakfast there was no staff available, not much in the way of cooked breakfast. I went to reception to comment on no staff and within 5 minutes staff appeared. By then I was put off by the food that was available. I just had toast and cereal. I would stay again as both my wife and I liked the spa and swimming pool. If you go take a robe with you as there is a cost to hire robes of about £7.

Parking was easy. The hotel bar was good. Had to ask for towels, as there were none in the room. Ideal location for PFI or Fulbeck karting tracks

This property is looking tired and is in need of modernisation, the bed was saggy and uncomfortable, you have to pay a pound to use towels in the spa, the food was limited for an evening meal but breakfast was good. Staff were friendly but lacked training to resolve issues like lack of gas for the bar drinks, and check out was slow.

The Barn was a comfortable enough stay for the one night, although the hotel is a little tired and in need of some refurbishment. The pool, sauna and steam room were nice enough. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. There was a small mix up with the wine i ordered but that was put right. I was wakened at 07:00 by noise outside my room. Overall a pleasant enough stay though.

We were only there overnight but neither the shower nor the TV worked. This property has definitely seen better days. The staff were friendly and tried to help but ....................

The hotel is dated. Looks nice from the outside and the reception area and front are fine. Our room was located to the rear and it’s this part which is dated and not well kept. The room was basic (which is fine) however there was a large scrape / chunk taken out of the wall. The carpets were dirty and threadbare. The thermostat didn’t seem to work so it was very warm all night and the walls between the rooms were so thin that you could hear conversations from the other guests. The staff were friendly enough and the drink prices at the bar were reasonable. For the one night I stayed it was fine but if your thinking of staying longer then I’d think about staying somewhere else.

Having stayed at this property before, I was looking forward to my stay. However, it was obvious I was given the worst room in the building after having paid the same as my colleagues and seeing their rooms. My room was upstairs, bed was soft with springs sticking out and you could hardly swing a cat in it, unless you wanted to sleep in the cupboard which was huge. The whole room was extremely tired, grubby and extremely warm. Linens and pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. My bath towels had holes in them. I could get no hot water in the evening (rushing to get down for dinner). I had to run down the corridor half wet to my friend's room to get a decent shower. My friends however, had perfectly adequate refurbished rooms, leaving me feeling like the poor relation. At £90 a night, I was expecting and should have received more. I expressed my disappointment on check out politely, and was told that the Manager would be in touch. This was over a week ago. Avoid unless you like a lottery.

We booked a little stop over on our way further up north during the school holidays. The hotel could do with a refurb and upgrading but it all in all, we couldn’t complain about the service provided by the staff. We especially received good service at breakfast time by Jane who was very helpful. Swimming, sauna and steam room was good fun for the kids and all of us.

Property is ok from the outside, very run down and old on the inside staffed by very uninterested staff. Burns in the bath and carpet, basic and old furniture in the room. And the bar charges over £7 for a pint of beer. Decent sleep, but won’t be returning.

Great stay. Superior room was very spacey. Very clean. I had easy access to swimming pool in the mornings and evenings (didn't choose to go during the day). Swimming pool wasnt too busy and the spa staff made sure they were monitoring numbers. Breakfast was lovely.
