The staff was super friendly and attentive.

Great place to stay at the end of Massachusettes Ave and about 10 minute easy drive to the KU campus. You can tell the hotel was an older one, but well maintained. Rooms were big and comfy beds. Highly recommend for families visitng Lawrence and KU

Upon arrival the hotel looks run down and could use a refresh. The rooms were fine but the bathroom is definitely showing its age. The pool had been shutdown by the health department 6 days before our arrival but for some reason we weren’t notified in advance. We were traveling with a middle school volleyball team and we wouldn’t have booked a hotel without a pool. They said we could cancel but at that point we were at the front desk and no other hotels had availability for everyone.

Friendly staff and a quick check-in along with useful dinner recommendations. Breakfast was also good. Overlooking the river and watched a bit for eagles which hunt in the area. Comfortable room and easy parking.

We ended up NOT staying at this hotel because we reside in the same county so the checkin lady assumed we were kicked out of our home and wanted to party and tried to make us pay an extra $250 deposit for room damages. We felt extremely confused as we are a local professional couple that just wanted a night to ourselves away from our children for Valentines Day. She then mentioned that since there was a homeless camp near they do.not respect local residents. We left feeling targeted and dumbfounded as we have never been been treated so unfairly by a local establishment.

All of the staff was very friendly. Property was nice and the breakfast was good as well. We also appreciated the reasonable price, unlike many other hotels these days.

This property has been updated recently. The design and layout is very odd. The horn from the train woke us up at least 4 times throughout the night. It is nice on the surface but it is obvious that consistent maintenance is not happening.

So I had booked this property months ago through Expedia and it randomly got canceled because apparently they overbooked or there was a glitch in the system between them and Expedia. Expedia could not help solve the problem could not find me another place to stay.

The room smelled very badly. I was put into room 169. The lower level rooms smell like mildew.

Asked for Tv to be serviced never was… The outside entrance was not very welcoming…leaves all over walk way, unkept…I look for welcoming outside environment & it was not.

Overall great experience but the pool room was very dark and smelled moldy

Love the river front view and river walk. And it was within walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants. Road construction in Lawrence is a challenge though.

We enjoyed our stay.

Front desk clerk was on his laptop with headphones in and ignored me for almost 5 minutes at check-in, main area and ceilings look dirty, room was great and clean.
