We booked two rooms for our 5 night stay while we visited the Creation Museum and the Ark. Overall the hotel was average. Not terrible but not good or great either.
Breakfast: Standard hotel fare of waffle maker, cereal, bagels, muffins, and hot selections of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon (for one day), and biscuits and gravy (only one day). The biscuits and gravy were really good and I wish they had them every day!
Staff: Courteous but not super friendly, which I’m fine with. If you’re looking for a staff to kiss your butt when you come in, go elsewhere. But if you want staff that handles their business politely, then this is it.
Pool: Water was cloudy, but was clean. Standard mid-level hotel pool.
General facilities: In disrepair and kinda dilapidated. There were all kinds of water spots on the ceilings in places, including near an ice machine where the ceiling tile completely crumbled and fell down on the ground. It was there all week, which tells me the cleaning crew didn’t clean that area, which tells me how they might feel about cleaning elsewhere. Didn’t look like they took any pride in the upkeep and appearance of their place.
Room: Clean enough for me. A few small stains on the linens but I could tell they were clean. TV was old and had a picture that showed it. Good enough for me, but picky folks might not like it.
It was middle of the road. For a few more bucks a night I’d stay elsewhere. Didn’t hate it, but sure didn’t love it.
