The property was beautiful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very attentive

Only hotel near the water and ferry and its reflected in the price.

Everything was great

The hotel is decent but it needs some serious TLC. All of the windows in our room didn’t have screens and weren’t functioning well. This was troublesome since we were traveling with our toddler. Someone had to come and drill one of the windows closed so that it wouldn’t fall out. The bathroom was missing hardware and had some cracked tiles. The remote to the TV was wrapped in tape to keep the batteries in. The room that we stayed in was street facing and was exceptionally noisy. I don’t think this hotel is worth the price.

I paid a $30 resort fee. I was under the impression that was for a gym. No gym. I was told "there are two bottles of water in your room complimentary". Oh, wow, I better savor that water. This hotel is not worth the expensive rate.

Danfords is in a great location to enjoy the Bars, Restaurants and shopping that Port Jefferson has to offer. The rooms are generally nice and comfortable. Toiletries are provided but they are the pump bottle, stuck on the wall type. The rooms are serviced early in the day but the staff needs to understand that Do not disturb means do not disturb. Parking is free but uses local municipal lots so you might have a long search for a space on a Friday or Saturday.

Rooms lacked bottles of drinking water and snacks, mini bar, a safe, a full length mirror and good lighting. Shower wasn’t draining properly, bathroom sink lacked counter space. Outside steps not safe-they have dips covered in carpet which is dangerous because you can’t see the dips until you actually step in them. No elevator in our building. Bar was closed for renovations. Lobby floor needs to be repainted or restained. It just wasn’t worth $360 per night.

Very nice location, very nice view, close to shops restaurants, parks.

This is our second consecutive year staying at Danfords and we are always happy with our accommodations. Beds are comfortable and the room is spacious. NEGATIVE: we were placed on the 3rd floor, with no elevator. We were able to carry our large suitcase upstairs, and were able to physically walk up three flights of very narrow stairs, but this should be clearly disclosed.

Can’t beat the location here. Shops, restaurants, and all kinds of stuff to do within walking distance. The views are also top notch. However with all that available stuff comes lots of noise from the street, people, and the surrounding area, so don’t expect this to be a quiet getaway. Our room was large and clean with a few minor areas that need updating. (Our toilet was partially wobbly and noisy). The new restaurant and/or bar area appeared to be closed from inside the lobby while we were there but we had an off site event that kept us too busy to mind. Would stay again.

The room was so quaint and spacious. The bedding was dreamy! I wish I could’ve stayed for a few more nights

Disappointed the restaurant was closed and was not posted prior to stay.

Pleased to be able to check in a bit early, after a long car ride. Disappointed that the dining room was closed, and the morning breakfast in the lobby was coffee only, not even a piece of toast! Also, the coffee in the room was terrible - not sure why? Otherwise very nice. Beds were super comfy and the decor is very attractive. Price was reasonable. Staff were friendly. Location is the main draw, along with the historic appeal of this iconic hotel.

Great spot in the heart of Port Jefferson

Was given as breakfast included, but upon arrival was told the restaurant is under renovation and settle for some munchies in the lobby. The next day, even that was removed and was told Saturday there is no food. At night, there was loud noise from people going up and down on the staircases as they are wooden. There is very poor lighting in the room.

The property is in a great location, beautiful views of the water. The area is a little loud at night. The property is starting to show signs of aging. They are renovating the restaurant which will be nice when it’s complete.
