My experience at Solmar was great. The staff were absolutely wonderful! Octavio was my bartender most of my stay. He was amazing and attentive. The staff all remembered my name, outstanding service. The rooms are a little dated but I wasn’t in my room much. The view made up for it. It’s close walking or Uber to restaurants and shops.

We stayed 8 days at this hotel with 2 teenagers. We really liked that it wasn’t crowded. Hotel is beautiful and quiet. It’s also walking distance to town. Area is very safe. Rooms are big, clean but a bit dated but we didn’t mind it. Everything worked very well. We also liked food choices at the restaurants. Hotel is located on the beautiful beach but you can’t swim there, it’s too dangerous in the Pacific Ocean. We were a little disappointed since we didn’t know about it while we booked our stay. Hotel has 2 big swimming pools, one with a swim up bar, which was very convenient. We loved relaxing by the pool. Every single person who works there was very kind and friendly. We really loved our stay and visit. We would love to return.

The service was great & we really enjoyed the spacious studio that was like a small apartment with 2 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen and 3 balconies. Location was great for a walk into town. The cocktails at the pool bar were expensive & they wanted to charge us $50 to enjoy the fire pit out on the sand. They do not allow you to take your own drinks to pool area.

Was charged unexpected fees for additional guests. Room sleeps 4, but you pay extra for anything more than 2 people. Restaurant/bar prices are higher than what one would expect at a hotel that's just average at best. (4 beers and 2 lemonades was $93) Oh and make sure to check your bill at check out. Without asking, they add an optional $20 donation to the hotel's "charity foundation". If you don't catch it, you'll be charged. I'm sure most are unknowingly paying it.

The property was very nice and clean. It's about a 30-minute walk to the marina, so not very close. The resort shuttle is available but not cheap. Also, note that the on-site restaurant only accepts credit cards. Overall, we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay.

It’s overall great. Staff is wonderful and super helpful and accommodating. Food is great! Beware you have access to the beach BUT it’s only for watching! The resorts facing the pacific are not deemed safe for swimming. We walked (10 min) to Empacadora beach, where they rent umbrellas and chairs. Family friendly, small. Go preferably on weekdays. Very close to the marina too. We enjoyed it.

The resort is located in the perfect spot. It is walking distance to the marina and which offers plenty of places to eat and it is where you meet for going snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing, and more ! It is also within a 7 minute walk from a hiking trail which is a really fun option to have for those of you who are into that kind of stuff . The food was delicious and the ambiance was great.

The resort was very nice, pool and beach walking very pretty. Easy walk into town did not need a vehicle. Con: a lot, lot of selling in the marina and neighborhood. It gets annoying.

The property itself is actually quite decent, though it does feel a bit dated in some areas. The staff was very friendly and genuinely helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. That said, the prices for food and drinks are outrageous. It feels like the entire area is overpriced—especially at the airport, where you can easily pay $20 for a single beer or a slice of pizza. And no, that’s not an exaggeration. One downside is that the facility doesn’t have its own gym or laundry. If you need either, you’ll have to walk over to the resort next door, Playa Grande, to use theirs. Our first couple of days were peaceful, but then things took a turn. The music at the pool got extremely loud, and the whole vibe shifted into more of a party scene. It lost that calm, classy atmosphere we were hoping for.

We purchased the all inclusive package with airfare for 3 nights. The staff was professional and literally were at our beck and call. They upgraded our room to a 2 bedroom deluxe with 2 bathrooms and allowed us to decorate our daughter’s room with rose petals and swans (maid created the swans and helped me set it up). They served us so much food and alcohol that was very high quality. We had everything from full breakfasts to ribs and shrimp. The swim up pool bar and jacuzzi were very relaxing. The beach is gorgeous and clean. You can’t swim. It’s too dangerous. But the walks were amazing. They had live music and on the beach grilling. There was a breakfast buffet on Saturday. We highly recommend. Make sure you book shuttle rides from the airport to the resort. The shuttles were always available. We took taxis to Cabo which is right around the corner. You can actually walk.

Small and excellent. 2 pools. No seat saving. Excellent food with good service. All inclusive available but each room also has a kitchen. Non swimmable beach with big waves and can get some wind which cools things off nicely. Would recommend!
