Good stay

Very clean hotel. Quiet. Not the best breakfast but ok

We came in late, easy check in then accidentally locked ourself out of our room very late ...the front desk is amazing to assist! Great experience. The breakfast was excellent too

My most recent experience at this hotel was awful. I booked and paid through Expedia, but when I arrived to check in, the person at the front desk immediately said “no locals” in a rude and dismissive tone. If this hotel refuses local guests, that policy should be clearly stated on both Expedia and the hotel’s own website before anyone books and pays. Taking someone’s money and then surprising them at check-in with an undisclosed policy is unacceptable. When I explained that I had already paid and had not seen this policy listed on Expedia or the hotel’s website, she continued to be rude. She also asked, “Why are you staying here?” in a judgmental and intrusive way, as if I had to justify booking a room I already paid for. She also took IDs from everyone in our group, even though we were all over 18. I understand hotels may require identification, but combined with the “no locals” comment, the questioning, and her attitude, it felt like we were being singled out and treated with suspicion before we had even checked in. It was insulting to be treated like we were automatically going to damage the property or cause noise complaints simply because we were local adults. I have stayed here before and had a pleasant experience, but this visit completely changed my opinion. The customer service was terrible, the front desk attitude was unacceptable, and the way we were treated made us feel unwelcome and discriminated against.

The breakfast no sausages, no bacon and no potato which are common for breakfast found in other hotels. No so worth for value.

Clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Lots of parking.

i've stayed here a few times. simple, clean, good access, beds are comfortable and they allow pets.

Older hotel well kept up. We found the room small but very clean. Near an exit so easy for our dog to get out when needed. Easy to find food, hotel is located right in the middle of everything in a busy part of Thunder Bay. Nice and quiet. Good breakfast. Easy to get in and out of

The breakfast menu was fresh. We found the room extremely small for the price we paid. The heater in the room was very loud making it difficult to sleep. The staff were very friendly.

Howard Johnson’s , I thought was a hotel. It really has the feel of a motel. Small lobby , only 2 floors. No elevators. Stairs only. Definitely needs updating. The beds were very comfortable. Bedding and pillows were good and lots of towels provided. Supposed to be free wifi , I’ve never been to a hotel/motel that required you to sign up with Wyndham for emails, and or points, before you could get access to the “free” wifi. Breakfast was the same typical continental breakfast , cereal, boiled eggs, bagels, waffle maker. Coffee and tea provided 24/7.

Enjoyed my stay, rooms clean, and quiet

The outside of the building was underwhelming but once inside our room it was nice and modern, clean and recently renovated. Breakfast could use some upgrades to give a little more selection of food like hot food as scrambled eggs.
