Avoid this hotel if you’re expecting a true 4-star experience. A family member booked an overnight stay here as a relaxing treat for me and my two-month-old son to celebrate his birth. Unfortunately, it turned into a very upsetting experience from start to finish. The room was not of the standard I would expect from a 4-star hotel or for the price paid. The bathroom was dated and in poor condition, with heavy staining, mould around the bath and a broken shower head. The ironing board was stained, there was no fridge (which made travelling with a young baby more difficult), and the kettle was covered in limescale. A formal complaint was made by both myself and my family member because of the personal impact the stay had on me and my baby. As I was not the booking holder, I submitted my own complaint directly to Ramside Hall so that my experience as a guest and as a first-time mother could be considered separately. Whilst the hotel apologised for my experience, my complaint was ultimately treated as feedback rather than being dealt with as a formal complaint, which I found extremely disappointing given the seriousness of the concerns I raised. Given that Ramside Hall prides itself on hosting family events such as weddings and special occasions. Based on this experience, that standard was certainly not reflected in the care or service we received. Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!

I was disappointed with my experience overall. After checking out, I accidentally left a brand-new Apple charger plugged in beside the bed. I called as soon as I got home, only to be told that housekeeping had checked the room and nothing had been found. I know for certain it was left plugged in, so this was very disappointing and has left me questioning the honesty of the housekeeping service. The dining experience was equally underwhelming. I ordered the risotto in the Rib Room, which was of such poor quality that I had to send it back. My husband's steak was also disappointing, as it contained a significant amount of gristle and was difficult to enjoy. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard of service and food. Unfortunately, our experience fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend staying or dining here. There are better places to spend your money.

10/10 stay. We did the stay, spa and dine deal. It was about £300 and worth it. The staff are great, the place is clean and the rooms are amazing. The spa is worth it, so relaxing. Only thing you couldn’t drink alcohol around the spa on a weekend. No one seemed to know why this rule was enforced and i don’t remember reading that on the booking. We ate at the fusion restaurant, they did good cocktails too. overall amazing time. Highly recommend even if it’s just for a spa day.

I’m absolutely disgusted about the experience at the Lord Lawson Year 11 Prom last night. Food was absolutely awful, processed food, staff has miserable faces the whole time, the free water wasn’t even cold. The prom got cancelled because some stupid girls thought it was acceptable to vandalise all the bathrooms. I don’t know why the security guards didn’t just kick whoever did it out. The prom revenue was absolutely sweltering, no air conditioning. Upon entering, there were tiny glasses of orange juice that tasted like they were from tesco’s. Got it finished within one mouthful. What an absolute awful experience I have had, the place deserves to get shut down after the experience I had. Not be surprised if it was the staff who vandalised the bloody bathrooms just because they didn’t want to do their job. Same exact thing happened a couple of year ago when year 11s got kicked out! Money utter wasted on basically nothing! If a school is reading this review and are planning to do their prom here, don’t!

Came to play golf, Golfing experience was very good, 2 challenging courses with very good greens. The Cathedral was a bit difficult, the course has been redesigned and some holes did not register on my yardage watch. The Prince course is the premier course and was very good. The hotel was excellent in every way, it was a shame we only stayed 1 night.
