My family and I had an extremely disappointing experience at Super 8 by Wyndham Canmore on October 6, 2025. We checked in around 8:30 PM with our two toddlers after a long day of travel, and within 30 minutes the front-desk staff knocked on our door twice telling me to “control my kids” because of normal toddler noise. The front desk staff, Alexandra, even said she had to “respect hikers and solo travellers who wake up early,” which made us feel singled out and discriminated against as parents.
The next morning, the manager accused us of making noise at 4 AM — a completely false claim, since our entire family was asleep until about 6 AM. He made this accusation without any verification, showing poor judgment and bias by simply accepting another guest’s complaint as fact. To make matters worse, we were told we could be charger to refund that guest, which is an outrageous and unjustified threat.
We travelled all the way from Southwest Ontario for a week-long vacation in Alberta and had a wonderful experience everywhere else — until this. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, and we looked for a hotel that truly respects all kinds of travellers, including families with young children the next day. I sincerely hope Wyndham reviews this incident and ensures proper training so no other guests are treated this way.
