Old school cool. Redding is hot in the summer, the A/C blew cold consistently. Still be upgraded and remodeled, but the upgrades are nice. We'd definitely stay here again.

My son had a very comfortable stay at the Thunderbird Lodge. His only difficulty was that upon returning to the hotel at the end of a long day, there were no open parking spots in the lot so he had to circle around the area at night to find a place to park.

Pleasant stay — the best of our trip! Out of all the places we stayed during our 4-night road trip, this one left the best impression. The room was small but very clean, fully equipped, and everything worked perfectly. What stood out most was the very pleasant scent in the room — not musty or neutral, but genuinely fresh and welcoming. The only downside was that it felt a bit warm inside. Breakfast is included, but it’s quite simple — coffee, hot chocolate (no tea), a few types of juice and water, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, and several kinds of bread. It’s not a large spread, but definitely enough to start your day. We arrived late at night and were worried when we didn’t see anyone at the front desk — but luckily, there was a bell to ring, and a staff member promptly came out to check us in. Huge thanks to the kind and helpful manager! 🔔 Suggestion: It would be helpful to have a sign near the reception letting late arrivals know to ring the bell — we were genuinely concerned we might not get in. Overall, it was a great experience — clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Would happily stay again!

Stay here because we like the location

Check-in was fast and accommodating. I asked for a quieter room, but I was awake most of the night. A lot of traffic, with loud motorcycles and sirens right outside the wall where my head was. The breakfast was standard but decent, although the coffee dispenser was empty. Luckily another guest walked over to the office and in about ten minutes we had some more. Room and bathroom were pretty spotless. TV, which I didn't use, was big.

The property is convenient to the designated place we were visiting. The start of our visit was great with the guest services representative who was very friendly and helpful. I would give multiple 5 stars if it wasn't for our experience. The problem we had, was the swimming pool chairs were flimsy, or broken, sparse and had broken while just sitting in them. One caused injuries (cuts and bleeding) to my brother after breaking with no action other then just sitting in it. The staff member offered no help at that point and the morning representative only said he'll take care of us next time. People have sued for less. Due to family friendly restrictions, i wont show the pictures showing the injury, just the broken chair. I hope this leads to the owners making better choices in their purchases.

Great place to stay for a night. Clean, easy check in. Traffic (Harley's?) were noisy the night we stayed, but able to sleep well.

The room was outdated but clean. Problem was the paper thin walls which let in road noise and loud unsupressed voices from room next door at 5am. Luckily had ear plugs but still slept horribly. Secondly, EV charging wasn't available as advertised, only the outlet by car port, no plugs. The staff was friendly and helpful though.

Nice quiet family run hotel. Centrally located with multiple food options and near freeway. Breakfast was a little underwhelming for me.

Love the valets here, always helpful. The hotel is very convenient to all the great food on the east bank and it’s easy to get into downtown.

The Thunderbird was nicely managed by the front desk manager. They are doing renovations, but it wasn’t particularly noisy. I was able to park right in front of my room which I liked. There are a few restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance. The coffee maker was difficult to figure out, or perhaps broken. But I always bring my own Mini Keurig. It is reasonably priced for the accommodations.

It was a good stay. Room is a little outdated but comfy. Bed was a bit uncomfortable, but nothing too bad. I would definitely stay again!

Hotel was decent for price and services

Customer service was great and breakfast was clean and easy. Rooms are very dated specifically the AC and carpets. Beds were uncomfortable and very hard. Gaps in door and frame and from the AC wall unit made it to be pretty noisy from passing vehicles. However, it is in a great area though and inexpensive.

Clean, comfortable, nice grounds with pool

After a long day on the road, a hot shower and comfortable bed were top priorities and we got them. We were able to charge our EV and the donuts and coffee next door started our next day of driving off perfectly.
