The rooms are a little tired and scrappy but were perfectly clean & comfortable. Staff were very attentive and friendly, great breakfast and well located.

check in procedure long and boring , only one staff member on and a long cue , lady was obviously harassed as smiling was not her strongest attribute.

A tired hotel which does the job. It all needs a good deep clean, and a refresh to be totally honest. Great location and excellent staff.

the ibis Carlisle is a 5 minute walk from the train station and the same into the centre so it's perfectly situated. the hotel is keenly priced and the staff are very cheerful and helpful.

Without asking I was giving a fully accessible room as staff with a very good bed. Room had excellent climate control feature that ensured it was always at good temperature. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite. Location was for what I required as well

Nice easy stop over on the drive to Scotland. Close to City sites like the citadel. Easy to get meals right at the pubs outside the Hotel, Car parking immediately behind the hotel was all easy for a tired traveller. Room was basic, bed comfortable, quiet, shower was hot. All good overall

All fine: clean, comfortable, quiet and only a short walk from the railway station. The staff were excellent and the breakfast was just right - I really appreciated the long opening hours for the breakfast room.

Does what it says on the tin

I rarely write reviews — I’m usually the one reading them. However, I felt I had to share our experience to help others make an informed decision, just as I tried to do for my family. I’ve stayed at Ibis hotels before and have always had good experiences, so I arrived with fairly high expectations. Unfortunately, the Ibis Carlisle did not meet those expectations at all. The hotel appears to be poorly maintained, with visible maintenance issues throughout. While it’s not the hotel’s fault, the surrounding area also felt quite rough, which added to our concerns — particularly about leaving our car in the car park overnight. Both of our rooms had multiple issues, including stains, marks, maintenance problems, unpleasant smells, and an overall lack of cleanliness. The condition of the hotel was nothing like the photos online, which feel very outdated. Given the price, we expected a much better standard, but this wasn’t the case. We ended up staying for less than 30 minutes before deciding to leave. To their credit, the staff were helpful and offered us a full refund, which we appreciated and did not expect.

Basic single bed room, medium sized, Hot water kettle, TV worked okay. The window has a safety cable and only opens a small amount. But, the room has a ceiling fan that blows air into the room. Check in and out was easy and fast. I didn't pay extra for the breakfast. It's a five minute walk from the train station.

It was what you would expect from an Ibis hotel - satisfactory accommodation for a reasonable price. If you are driving there I suggest you investigate where the car park is located (behind the hotel off Cecil Street - and not straightforward to find). I didn't, tried to call the hotel twice for directions and the call wasn't answered.

We found bed bugs and left immediate absolutely disgusting

Room was ok. But for able body people it was a bit poor to be put into rooms that better used for disability people.

Great location friendly staff clean room

We have stayed before 2 years ago. The staff on check in was excellent. Floor in the room was a little dirty and one of the beds was saggy in the middle. Pillows need replacing. Was very noisy outside due to partying

The breakfast was the best part. It was freshly cooked and cooked well. The stairs were dirty and there was mud on the carpets. The room was not up to the standard we have experienced at ibis in the past.
