The staff went above and beyond to make sure the guests comfortable. There was hot and cold breakfast available at the hotel at a reasonable price. The hotel is located walking distance to the city center. I walked to the beautiful church. It is nearby bus stop #9 something I wish I knew. Great location!!

Good location, within a few block walk of Laugavegur street which where you'll find lots of choice of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. Rooms were practical for what we needed. Fantastic breakfast offering in the morning, which was an ideal way to start off a day of siteseeing.

Polite staff with very good breakfasts. Comfortable rooms. Having only one elevator helped me take the stairs more often which might be a good thing.

It was in a good location, service could be better. Be aware that parking is not free at the hotel.

We loved the location. We were able to walk to everything easily. It is an older hotel so the bedroom and bathroom are smaller. The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Great staff. They work hard to take care of you.

Our stay here was fine. The location is in a very walkable area of city center location without all the noise. Front desk staff was AMAZING, so helpful; promptly answering emails long before our arrival and letting us know how to get around. They let us store our suitcases when we arrived super early. Our room was fine, but not fancy; very clean. It had all the basic accommodations; bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean, spacious. You can purchase a breakfast buffet with your room. It was very nice, plenty of options. Only downside is that they have one small elevator; it may be a long wait, if there is a large group. I loved my stay here made better by ALL the staff at the front desk; they were so helful and kind. I wish I knew their names.

An enjoyable stay in a hotel set in a building built in 1898. The staff was excellent and helped us get checked in early (for a small fee). The complementary breakfast was very good. The hotel is located just a couple blocks from the shopping district and we found we could walk just about anywhere.

We weren’t real sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. The double room was plenty big for 2 of us. The bathroom was good sized but the sink was tiny and with very little space to “ put” things. Clean. View was great of the harbor but room hot at night even with the windows open and noisy. Men talking loudly outside at 3:00 am was not conducive to a good night’s rest. The breakfast is well worth it! It was a good place for a couple of nights and convenient to much in Reykjavík.

Hotel was average. The lobby is small and the hotel feels dated. The room was ok, had a queen size bed and 2 twin beds, small table and chairs. Bathroom was small, water was extremely hot. Blackout curtains let in a lot of light. Location was ok. Close to the waterfront and walking path. Different than being in the downtown city center. Just depends what you are looking for. Front desk did not explain parking situation very well which made it confusing. There is a "check in" screen that you put your license plate number in and that registers your car. And then you pay at the machine outside. But you need to put the license plate number in everytime you park your car. After being in Iceland, i now understand their parking. But this was our first day/night in country with no sleep and the staff didn't explain it.

Property was convenient but in a noisy area. Some noise was probably nearby construction but alot of highway /street noise. Staff were very friendly. No dining facilities but breakfast is offered as extra. There was a fire alarm at about 7.20 am. Due to fire in ground floor kitchen.!! Noisy room doors due to old outdated lock/ latch system. Overall hotel was noisy and dated.

One of the main reasons we picked this property was its location which is wonderful. It is within easy walking distance of the harbor and lots of shopping. It is an older hotel with limited parking. We were lucky to get a spot in the lot. The fire alarm going off at 7:40 am was an unpleasant shock. The elevator was out of service the second and third days we were there. It was a bit of a challenge lugging suitcases down 3 flights of stairs but I was thankful not to be lugging them up 5 as I am sure some guests had to do.

Great location! Grocery store right behind hotel which is convenient. Hot water does have a strong sulfur smell, if you are not used to that. You will pay for parking, as the hotel does not own the parking lot, and there are not a lot of spaces available, which can be an issue in the evenings. Beds were comfortable though and room was clean. Bring your sleeping mask in summer, the curtains are not black out ones. Hope this helps!
