We had a "junior suite" and it was delightful - space to enjoy TV and cards by a fire, and a cozy bed to sleep in. This inn is older, but has been well-maintained, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.

We had the worst sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel because the air conditioning wasn’t working and our room smelled like cigarettes. When we asked the front desk to fix the air conditioning, someone came and fixed it - and it worked for about 10 minutes before reverting to warm air again. When we told staff about our experience at checkout, they feigned sympathy but weren’t too bothered. We’ve never had a bad experience at the Tonquin before, and have always been eager to support anything but Pursuit … but yeesh … this stay was a hot, stinky stay.

The room we had was excellent: clean and private. The temperature in the room was really high though, the AC wasn’t working and we had to open all the windows to keep the temperature down. It wasn’t that cold outside.

Great location, walkable to food and pubs

Very pet friendly. Clean rooms. Great space. Starbucks in walking distance. On site dining that was wonderful.

The room is clean, I love the refreshment set up at the reception! Over all great, would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends!

Being welcome to pets was really good. There were some issues. Checking in was not good. There was another gentleman and a language barrier. And he was very loud. But the staff member was addrssing him standing in front of me, but talking to him diagonally. I did not hear anything being said to me. How about be right across from him or take him aside. The room was brutal! In that, there was dead air, hot and suffocating. The baseboard heat was hot, the ac unit sounded like a broken tractor, smelled, and did not circulate any air. The second night we got a fan, but it was brutal. Our room was not tidied at all. I called and was told that during check in they told me that if we wanted our room tidied to call. How about a sign on the door? As again, i didnt hear a word said to me at check in. A flush mount ceiling fan is much needed. The room was clean and neat, but you couldnt stay in the room due to the air quality.

We were passing through town so stopped for the night. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and had a fantastic meal at the restaurant!

Great location, very friendly staff. The room was functional but in amenities were a little dated and in need of replacement in certain instances. That said, the accommodation is perfectly placed and served our purposes well.

Overall the trip was a great experience, as always! During our stay 2/3 of the hot tubs were closed due to maintenance. Cannot wait to go back again next year!

It was a not bad place to stay. Rooms were cramped

Spacious clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Particularly liked the outdoor hot tubs, dry sauna, and proximity to town.

Short stay, but it was great overall!

Feels like an older motel, needs updating. Our room smelled like old cigarette smoke. Room was clean, sink slow to drain. Bed was comfortable. We were able to hear people talking and moving around above us on the second floor. Hot tub and pool were clean and a good temperature. Rooms are only cleaned and stocked on the 3 rd day but I had to call and ask for this to be done . Room fan is very loud and even with fan on hi cool the room was hot by the middle of the night. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Whiskey Jack restaurant is located adjacent to the hotel, food was decent. Guest at the Tonquin gets 10% off their meals . Overall we had a gd stay.
