Great little place to stay, right in the middle of town. Breakfast was good, the staff were friendly.

The photos online were nothing like the actual hotel. Upon arrival, you walk directly into a bar area where the first employee we encountered was quite rude and unwelcoming. Interestingly, his attitude improved only after my credit card was successfully processed. The room itself was very small and had no air conditioning. Fortunately, the weather was cool during our stay; otherwise, the room would have been unbearably hot. The service continued to disappoint. When I asked another employee for some ice, he reached directly into the ice bucket with his bare hand and placed the ice into a cup. There is nothing less appetizing than watching someone put their hand into a communal ice supply. This same employee was also unfriendly until he realized we were hotel guests. The bathroom was another issue altogether. There was visible mold, and when we informed the employee that the toilet was not working properly, he said he would "get to it when he had a minute," even though there were no customers in the bar at the time. Overall, the combination of misleading photos, rude staff, poor cleanliness, and lack of attention to maintenance made for a very disappointing stay. Unless you're looking for unfriendly service and moldy bathrooms, you may want to reconsider booking this hotel.

This place is a bar, not a hotel, very narrow staircase, no elevator, no good drainage on showers or toilets, not a decent breakfast, the room was on the third floor floor, it was the attic !!!! It was located on the red zone and it was not a place to take a prostitute. It was a place to throw a drunk person to sleep after passing out. It is a rathole!!! Do not, Do not go there. !!!!!

For the price point the place is pretty good. It is in the centre of the Red Light District so you need to expect some noise i to the night. The stairs are typical for that age of building... would not recommend if you have a big bag and/or are old. I'm only in my 60's so it was OK for me. Security is adequate and the breakfast was reasonable.

The Staff was excellent and very accommodating, not only to me but to the general public that was hanging out in the bar and at the Breakfast center.

Everything was great for me! And when my bank in America shut my card off, the staff let me stay in the bar using the phone to fix my issues! They were great!

I’m giving it three stars because it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. It’s certainly unique, and you’re right in the heart of Amsterdam, close to everything and literally in the middle of the Red Light District — yes, with a view of the ladies. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else. There’s a bar downstairs that feels like something from the Peaky Blinders era, where smoking ban rules don’t seem to apply, so it’s quite an experience to rate. If you want luxury, this is not the place — the rooms are very basic, and not everything is in perfect condition. But if you’re looking for something different and want to see and feel Amsterdam’s atmosphere right from your window and doorstep, and you’re not too bothered about where you lay your head at night, then it’s perfect. And honestly, next time I’m in Amsterdam, I think I’ll return for the nostalgia and the beauty of its simplicity.

best value for your money, not looking for a 5 star hotel, just a clean safe place to get some sleep and freshen up. They have a nice breakfast included in the morning and the bar is open 24/7. Location is right in the middle of all the action. Have been here before and will come again

This place is run down, shoddy, loud and dangerous. What a terrible stay. You’ll be lured to book it because its rates are lower but you will regret that as I now do. The stairs are so steep that you could literally fall to your death trying to struggle a heavy suitcase up there. The step treads are barely 6 inches. No doorman to help. The rooms are tiny and broken down. Like the tiny single table in my room that was falling out of the wall.
